Equus is an Alternate Earth · 7:13am Jan 20th, 2021

One theory that I've always been a fan of was the theory that Equus (The Planet Equestria resides on) is Earth from an Alternate Universe/Timeline.

If you take a look at a Map of the Equestrian Continent it looks remarkably similar to North America, cities like Manehattan, Fillydelphia and Los Pegasus being in a similar location to Manhattan, Philadelphia and Las Vegas respectively. Even the Crystal Empire resides in the frozen north, a notable similarity to Canada. Saddle Arabia sounding like Saudi Arabia, even Griffonstone also has a notable likeness to its Earth counterpart, Germany.

It makes so much sense.

Not disimilar to Middle Earth, then. There, the continents of the 2nd and 3rd ages eventually merged into the continents we know today.

I was always a fan of the theory that Equestria is just earth but really far into the future. Where humans just died out long ago and only remnants of civilization remain.

Also, just noticed you reached a 100 blogs. Congrats! .. I think?

Or maybe it's an alternate Earth set in the future, where the continents merged once more to create Pangea again. (So like, the dinosaurs existed when there were separate continents and the ponies/others exist on a supercontinent)

Yeah, personal theory

Well, maybe not Pangea, because there's clearly a separate continent that the griffon and dragon kingdoms are on, but maybe like Gondwana and Laurasia

So when in Earth's history would this occur?

Um...well, it would be an alternate Earth, but like...our future is their present?

so it's like the Warhammer Fantasy world, where all the landmasses are extremely similar to Earth, but the world itself is vastly different?
