There are some who say that no true story never ends. There are others who say that there is only one true story and that we are all a part of it.

I just had an experience so weird that I had to share it with everyone. I've been feeling bad for about a week. Flu like symptoms: fever, chills, aches, etc. I was trying to get plenty of rest in hopes that it would pass, but it kept hanging on. This morning it felt like there was a rock in my chest and I was having problems breathing while coughing up large amounts of phlegm. So, off to the ER I go. They were having a major surge of cases and were packed. I had most of the covid symptoms on their chart and was sent to the (packed) isolation area. While there, my symptoms gradually calmed down and by the time they did an X-Ray and blood draws, I felt back to my baseline. My chest X-Ray showed inflammation in my lungs, but my labs came back negative.

I was eventually released with an official diagnosis of "we have no idea what is wrong with you." I get home and go to lay down, and all of my severe symptoms begin to immediately come back. I get up and the symptoms start to fade. And then it hits me: this isn't the flu, its an allergic reaction. I've been sick for a week because the dust and dust mites had built up to a critical level and had nearly given me pneumonia.

Somehow, my allergies decided to cosplay as Covid-19 and were able to mimic the symptoms nearly perfectly. Some intense cleaning and I should be fine as soon as the inflammation in my lungs dies down. The technical name of what I have is hypersensitivity pneumotitis; an allergic reaction along with an opportunistic lung infection. What are the chances that something unrelated would mimic Covid-19 that closely.
