A small cast description in the A.N. will suffice. Preferably at the end of the arc. Not every chapter.
I'm guessing it's usually easy to google as long as you mention the crossover source. But that's probably just me...
I think yes, but only for stand alone chapters and the beginning of a multi chapter story.
If all the characters do not show up in the first chapter of a multi chapter story add them in for that chapter

If you feel an explanation at the end of each chapter just adds unnecessary complexity, I'd recommend a Cast of Characters page, which references specific chapters. I don't always recognize every chapter's characters, but I can usually figure it out from context. The latest one, I haven't a clue about, but enough is provided that I can still understand the basics of what's going on and enjoy it, so that's good enough.

The current chapter is based off of movies by a European studio. Wolfwalkers is an Apple+ exclusive though Kimcartoon lets you watch it fro free. Just watch out for the adds and pop ups.
Book of Kell is about a young boy from the town of Kell. The abbot his uncle is building a wall of stone around the town to protect it from the raiding Vikings. The monks are illuminators and the story revolves around finishing the book while also trying to survive the encroaching Vikings. The farie is a character the boy meets while looking for certain berries to make ink.
Wolfwalkers is about a settlement trying to kill off the wolves in a nearby forest. The Wolfwalkers leave their bodies when they sleep and become wolves. The daughter of a hunter Robyn is accidentally bitten and becomes a wolfwalker. Which leads to conflict in the story as she tries to hide it
