How I became a brony · 6:29pm Dec 31st, 2020
Hello everyone!
I thought I'd try this blog thing. Not really sure what will I write here or how often (somewhere between 1 day and 10 years probably), if you want me to write about something, you can tell me.
Anyway, I thought of sharing you the story how I became a brony because I think it's a little ironic, you'll see why.
So it was at the end of December 2019, somewhere after Christmas. I had to watch my little sister for a few hours. She was and is into horses. So she asked me to search for a show that has horses in it so I fire up Netflix and find a few. I also have to tell you that at that time, I was looking for a series. I wanted something that has an active fandom because that just motivates me further to stay. Another thing is that I knew nothing about this show before, just that it has a large adult fanbase but I didn't know any bronies or pegasisters.
Back to the story. So I browse among search result and see mlp. I ask if that's okay for her and she nods. So this is how I saw the first episode. It was not bad, but nothing special. After it ended, I asked my sister if she wanted to watch more, but she didn't like it so I had to look for something else. Later, though, I was curious, so I watched the second episode. Only after that, I remembered, it's that show that's popular among adults, so I thought I'll give it a chance and watch the rest of the season. I'll be honest with you, I didn't really liked the first season save for a few episodes. I realized, though, that this is only the first season and at that time nobody thought of this will be loved by adults. Also, I had to admit that the characters and some songs were really good. So I gave a chance for the second season. It was better, in my opinion. And after that I became too curious to stop there, so in a few weeks I finished all the remaining seasons. By that time, I considered myself a brony. I started to search for fan content and also plan some fanfics. I had to make up for a lot of 'brony classics', I tried my best.
So yeah, here I am, with this silly story, with the irony of the 'target audience / actual audience' meme. I'm really thankful for my sister, even if it was just blind luck because this community is awesome!
Well, this is it, I guess.
Happy New Year to all of you!
