I think you missed the number 2 on that one.
As for the 'anthropomorphic hat' one, it's not confusing to me. Too many people now automatically think of furries when they think of that word, without bothering to actually look up the word itself.
Anthropomorphic literally means 'Something that is not human, but has been given human characteristics, i.e. speech, wearing of clothing and/or bipedal movement'.
Hence why I find this fandom's tendency to call bipedal pony art 'anthro' hilarious. By the definition of the word, they're already anthropomorphic.
Also hence why I will never understand the animosity between Bronies and Furries.

Well, whenever I heard “anthro” I always thought of the character being a non-human being, but still having physically human qualities, such as ponies having hands and human torsos, and sometimes having feet instead of back hooves.

Nope. Literally anything that isn't human but has been given even just one human characteristic.
All the animals in all those old Disney movies? Like Oliver & Company, The Aristocats and The Lion King? They're all anthropomorphic, simply because they can speak and show a human level of intelligence.
