Hero opened his eyes, his vision . “What the...” he sat up. The nymph looked around to see a few other islands around him, and a bigger one in the middle. The weird part was that the islands were floating in the air.

“Gah! W-What the hell?!” Hero fell back, hyperventilating. He hated heights. He looked around, noticing other creatures on the other islands. Then, a horn blew.

Hero watched as the other creatures ran into their respective caves. Hero looked back at the cave on his island, where a chest sat. He ran over and opened it, looking inside. There sat a leather chest plate and a small trench shovel. He slipped the chest plate on and examined the stone shovel.

He heard hoofsteps outside. He turned to see a griffon step into the cave. They were wearing a steel breastplate and a bow. Hero smiled slightly.

“Hey, do you know what—”

The griffon sent an arrow into the wall. Hero squeaked and tried to use his magic to attack the griffon, but nothing happened.

“Haha, magic don’t work here,” the griffon said. “Now, get ready to di—”

Hero swung the shovel into the side of the griffon’s head. The griffon squawked in surprise as Hero rushed her. With a few more swings, the griffon fell over and hit her head on a rock. Hero watched as blood coagulated from her head.

Hero stared at her, before shaking his head and bending down to loot the body.
