Christmas Plans Are Subject to Change · 10:27am Dec 21st, 2020
T-minus three weeks until little Milo makes his debut, and his Christmas gift to Mommy and Daddy is a whole bunch of health scares! Baby and wife are fine, but things have been more stressful than usual around here.
I'm not gonna lie to ya'll; getting the Continuity Outlines ready has been more emotionally draining than I realized. I don't know if it's the work itself or the mind-set I've been in this past month, but I've been having to force myself to tinker with them. As it is, they aren't going to be ready by Christmas.
Don't get me wrong; they're gonna get finished. Something tells me that once Milo gets here I'm going to want something to tinker with that doesn't require a ton of new story development.
Instead, I offer up a pair of shiny new Christmas gifts; two new stories that are about to be submitted for posting just as soon as I finish this blog!
-'The Best Part of Waking Up' is a silly little dark thing that popped into my head and was banged out in just under 90 minutes. I think it's funny.
-To mark the five year anniversary of 'Grogar: a Hearth's Warming Horror Story,' I was inspired to revisit the site of one of my most popular stories to see what's become of the land that was once Ponyville. The result is 'Apple Valley: a Hearth's Warming Horror Story,' and it's everything a 'Grogar' sequel should be; short, creepy, and with just a little hopeful note at the end.
(Don't get it twisted; I'm still retired from the Horror genre. I had the idea to do a five year anniversary story and it was just too good to pass up.)
As far as 2021 goes, I'm not making any major commitments. I don't know how Milo is going to affect the dynamic around here. I do have ONE big project that's been in the works since August, but I'm not spilling that until it's at least halfway done.
I hope you enjoy my creepy Christmas gifts, and continue to beg your patience while I attempt to put the Continuity to rest with the respect it deserves.
Merry Christmas,
Jade Ring
