For the first time, since college

After more than a decade of cooking nothing, I finally prepared a few eggs for myself, on a stove. The last time that I did this was back in college, during the 2006-2010 time frame. It was during an attempt to lose weight, which was successful. After that point in time, I had no major reason to cook anything for myself. Therefore, I did not. I did some basic food prep for meals, but that

Looking forward to the holiday break

Usually, I find the winter solstice season, or the post winter solstice season, to be rather relaxing. Depending on where I'm employed, things quiet down before or after Christmas, and since 2016, I've had jobs that offer paid time off, for the holidays. For both of the employers that I've had, since 2016, the work load lessens, by Christmas. The winter solstice break of 2018 has probably been

Looking forward to the holiday break · 12:23am Dec 18th, 2020

Usually, I find the winter solstice season, or the post winter solstice season, to be rather relaxing. Depending on where I'm employed, things quiet down before or after Christmas, and since 2016, I've had jobs that offer paid time off, for the holidays. For both of the employers that I've had, since 2016, the work load lessens, by Christmas. The winter solstice break of 2018 has probably been my favorite, since it involved two entire weeks off. It seems as though the break of 2020 might be similar.

For me, the winter is a great time period for long walks. I'm easily comfortable in temperatures roughly down to 20 or so degrees Fahrenheit, and I enjoy the isolation, as I walk through the suburbs, to a trail in a small nature preserve, which I will also walk through, before heading back home. That's basically my standard two hour walk, for days off. Since I started to work four day work weeks on the weekend, for a higher pay rate, I've been relying on these walks.

While I was pulling together the standard walk in 2018, I also started to listen to audible readings, while walking. It was mostly a combination of creepypasta podcasts from Chilling Tales for Dark Nights, and MLP fanfiction that was semi-legally downloaded off of YouTube. Listening to "Fallout: Equestria" and "Fallout: Equestria - Project Horizons" had even galvanized my mind towards creating my own concept for a "Fallout: Equestria" spin off.

A few months back, I quit listening to audible readings, so that I could focus on my own thoughts. I might return to that habit. I'm not sure. I might even attempt to write a Hearth's Warming themed story. The writing juices are flowing through my neural circuitry, guiding my hands. Who knows what they may lead to.

For now, it's nearly bedtime, since my shifts start early. Good night, to all.

Edit: I think that I need to adjust my time zone.
