    Quickdraw Blog. BANG!

Heya folks! This will be a quick blog, more rapid update outta necessity than witty commentary, so i'll cut straight to the chase. I've got good and bad news. The good, in my opinion, outweight the bad! But you be the judge:

It Cuts Like a Knife; It Might Leave You Bleeding

Story reviews are interesting because, sure, you can use them to know if a certain book will be the right one for you? But I feel they’re more useful when the review is in itself a tool to talk about storytelling in general. You review a book, but the book is a jumping-off point to discuss what it means to have good pacing; stuff like that.

A Full Year of Only Mondays

Good morning. This is, from my point of view, a comedy blog. From the point of view of my family and loved ones, it's a horror story.

I'm so fucking back, baby. Hi, all. Did you miss me? I know I did.

Consider joining my Patreon if you like these comics; I spend a lot of time making these, and every bit helps.

Sorry for the double patreon link; these comics are reposted in derpibooru lately and I felt like adding the link to the comic would cover my bases, but you guys getting a direct link to click is more comfortable, so.

I didn't like the latest comic cause the writing felt too rambly and not tight enough. So! This one has like. An insane amount of work put into it. Part 2 coming soon, I've got it all planned out and a couple things drawn already.

Also, shoutout to my sister for helping me with the clothes, I wouldn't have been able to give the characters outfits without her (the only one I designed was Princess Twilight's, and she thinks it's boring, so that's on me). And shoutout to Mousse for bullying me into giving Sci-Twi overalls. Absolutely the right choice.

This is exquisite. Though I do have to wonder how Fluttershy's wedding meshes with the EqG timeline... unless we're just going by the "trapped in a nightmare of perpetual high school" hypothesis. Though the bird sisters raise far more fascinating questions...

But yeah, great stuff. And I appreciate the implication that I'm a silver-bordered card. :derpytongue2: Looking forward to part 2.

I think to date you are the only person I've seen do 'Sociopathic Humor' in an actually funny way. And I want to congratulate you for it. You are a very talented and very funny individual.

Every time Aragon did something like the horse statue in panel 44, he'd immediately message me something like

OH MY GOD
I CAN'T SHOW YOU
BECAUSE SPOILERS
BUT IN LIKE
THREE WEEKS
OH MY GOD
THIS IS SUCH A MASSIVE FLEX
BUT SPOILERS

It's an absolute delight to see him finally able to show this off. Absolutely deserved.

I feel like your expressions are better but I can't explain how. Very nice!

Oh, hey. A reason to log back into FimFiction!

This is a wonderful comic and (from the reader's point of view) worth every drop of blood, sweat, and tears you've poured into it. I can't wait until part two!

Pretty sure when you marry Discord the wedding happens "Last Thursday" whenever you are discussing it. Or some equivalent.

Honestly, I just like how you fixed a plot hole by shipping Fluttercord.

I really love Human!Princess!Twilight's coat.

There's nothing like another Aragon comic full of hilarious sociopathy and trauma to brighten the day. Never stop making these. I kinda agree with Twilight about Fluttercord...

Am I better than them? Yes. But They deserve the chance to get utterly humiliated by me on equal ground.

Only Rainbow Dash, I swear... :rainbowlaugh: She's has been turned into a Comrade in 10 seconds flat. Starlight would be proud.

This is half the reason these comics are so good.

Really, you may have done your world a favor by bringing the Ladies here where Aloe can have a nice time. What's a little ecological devastation compared to the goddess of fate and death going rogue?

The best medicine is no laughing matter

Given the number of drugs I've partaken in over my life, I can confidently confirm this. :rainbowlaugh:

The self-bandaging is also quite accurate. :derpytongue2:

Also I feel like you spent a lot of time on their clothes and they look great!

I loved it and everything it was made of.

You're definitely improving. For a hot second I thought you were being depressing by bringing modern nepotism-dominated hiring practices into our wholesome horseland, but then Spits changed the subject and everything went nicely off the rails in typical Aragon fashion, so I'm extremely satisfied. What you did with the Ladies and RD's character here are both incredible.

Rainbow's monologue will haunt me in the best way, and I hope you don't mind if I steal it for a DnD NPC.

Also I love visibly seeing your ponies get pointier, I'm betting there's an eventuality where it's just stylish exclamation points traumatizing each-other.

Ghod, I hate EQG so much... except when you write it. Then, it's the perfect counterpoint to Horseland. Plus, a very nifty, semi-deco horse statue drawing is always welcome.

I died at "Howdy?" XD

Goddamn, this is amazing, and I can't believe there's going to be more. :D

I have absolutely no idea what I just read but I love it.

This was a hoot from start to finish. Looking forward to more!

Once again, words escape me. Bravo.

Oh my good lord what is this.

This is amazing.

Oh wow, them ponies be gloriously tall in their introductory panels! :rainbowlaugh:

I can’t even... why is there no way to favorite journals?

Poor Twi. Everyone loves her, even the one she really wishes wouldn’t.

great job!

Aragon you are a bloody national treasure. Never let anyone tell you otherwise.

I loved every panel of this.

I cannot express how much I love this, and expressing things is like 90% of what I do. I laughed, I chuckled, I put off eating dinner for an extra 20 minutes once I saw this go up.

Great work.

I love that when the ladies were introduced on panel 88 all I had to do was look at their necks to know that THEY ARE NOT TO BE TRIFLED WITH.

Also, this was a really great comic, probably your best work so far!! It was a hell of a ride all the way through, and I love the light-and-flexible continuity you have going on here!!

I was a little disappointed that this chapter didn't have an incedental Rarity, but it wouldn't be as special if it happened every time :raritywink:

Laughed so hard I'm crying. Masterful.

Upsie Dashie

I'm literally dying somebody help :rainbowlaugh:

I loved this, I didn't know that your jokes could be elevated so well with some drawn expressions. Thank you making this so long, too, it made it much nicer to read than having to wait every week for new pages.

Excellent. :D

Dear frag, Aragon, you've completely transitioned into a full-blown comics guy, haven't you?

I stand once again in awe.

I love your stuff man.

*Processes what Discord said in the last part*

Wait was he-?!

**TO BE CONTINUED**

I was expecting none of this and I loved all of it.
If it were a statue I'd be the drunkard slumped against its plinth, incoherently begging it to talk to me.

The Ladies are super-cool. Are they a preexisting concept from somewhere else or did you come up with them yourself?

Ponies got legs!

Though I do have to wonder how Fluttershy's wedding meshes with the EqG timeline...

I don't really have a continuity through these comics but I do have ideas I share among all of them -- the first being that time doesn't really work the same way between the different dimensions.

Basically: I want to ship Sci-Twi and Sunset cause I enjoy their chemistry, but it gets really creepy if Sunset is as old as she should be if you take the show's timeline into account. So I just assume time goes by extremely slowly in the human world; the ending of the show has happened in most of these comics already (thought we're not at the epilogue yet in most of 'em), but the EQG girls are still teenagers.

It's just the easiest way to keep this going, really, and it lets me juxtapose adult-ass horses with marriages and shit, with actual teenagers. Win-win, y'all.

5414676

Rainbow Dash is not Discord in disguise; if that's how the ending reads, that's on me. Discord basically just pops out of nowhere at the end; this'll be clearer in part two. Him quoting Dash's speech and calling Twilight his little personal Moondancer is just a comedic echo, because he knows exactly what to say to fuck with Twilight as much as possible, as fast as possible.

The only reason why Dash is not in the last scene in her own house is not cause she disappeared, it's cause I was like, 110 panels in, it was 3am, Dash had nothing funny to say, and I just went "oh fuck this, she'll just stand quietly out of frame."

5414677

The Ladies are mine, yeah. For a long time I've been toying with the idea of giving the EQG world an alternate to Celestia and Luna; two different characters who are completely mundane in Equestria, but in Humanlands they're basically goddesses who control odd stuff (life and death was just one of many possibilities, really; it's just the one that fits the comic better). I finally managed to write about it in this comic, and the only reason why it's Aloe and Lotus is cause the pink/blue theme mirrors Celestia and Luna nicely, and because I assumed literally fucking nobody would guess it'd be then.

As an aside, the lotus symbolizes birth and resurrection, and if we're being very liberal, "aloe vera" can be translated to "bitter truth", which is an apt descriptor for the concept of death. This is a massive coincidence and I only found this out after I had already picked the spa sisters for the role of the Ladies, but it's cute nonetheless.

I still ship it.

5414697
Ah. Honestly that's a wasted joke then but still funny.

It's all so quoteable. :3

Every single page of this comic is so iconic

I freaking love your Rainbow Dash. I also love how you manage to give her her own unique style of sociopathy. I'd almost call it action hero sociopathy. I could oh so easily imagine her as a superhero training some poor traumatized child to be her sidekick in fighting crime and seeing nothing wrong with exposing a child to violent psychos and vicious murderers.

This is just terrific. I was blown away by how many panels there were. The stylized art is well done; the writing is excellent and the humor and character 'voices' are right on target. Can't wait for part 2, and well worth adding y'all to the artists I support on Patreon.

I adore it when I giggle enough to be in pain. I am discomforted now, part 2 soooooon is delight on the brain

Every frame of this comic I think I've reached the best part, and then the next frame goes "oh yeah? Hold my cider." It's like a glorious trainwreck that just keeps going and going and you can't look away and you know you shouldn't be smirking but you can't help yourself.

5414534
International treasure, more like, because otherwise I'm pretty sure neither of us can claim him. (Aragon is Spanish, remember?)
