Well, a lot of it also has to do with Trump and numerous Republicans wanting to ignore the virus as much as possible because the only thing that matters to them is the "economy". (which, by the way, is code word for their rich friends who bribe them to oppose any and all legislation that threatens their limitless profits) Trump himself wouldn't acknowledge the virus because his own narcissism saw it as a sign of "weakness". Plus, America has so fetishized the concept of freedom it doesn't even know what real freedom is anymore. Freedom comes with responsibility.

The anti-vaxxers will always be a problem, but if our government had actually done what it should have done from the beginning and stuck with it, we wouldn't be in this position. A lot of Republican voters openly admit they won't wear masks because Trump and/or their governors tell them not to.

The fault isn't even his alone. Governments and people all over the world have gotten complacent over the last 100 years and didn't want to admit that the shit had hit the fan. People are protesting anti-virus measures all over the world, not just Europe.

People hate being told what to do so much they're willing to put themselves and others in danger just to preserve their convenient lifestyles.

Anti vaxxers are just as dangerous as any disease, right? Some kids have died necause their stupid parents refuse to vaccinate on account of how they apparently cause autism. As someone with autism, I definitely am offended. One of the nutjobs i clashed swords with ended up calling yound and dumb,and a pedophile. Probably from the couple of MLP pictures i have on my FB profile. And I dont mean to sound ageists, but at least we younger folk understand how to use modern technology. When our generation is old we might not understand newer tech.

Anti-vaxxers are dangerous, that much is true. And I get offended too by anyone who says autism is a disease and/or "bad". Plus, ageism is as prevalent as ableism.
