My Thoughts On Sexualized Female Outfits in Media · 5:43am Nov 27th, 2020

so this was just on my mind and I wanted to talk about it.

To be blunt, sexualized outfits/armor isnt the porblem, them existing is fine, the issue is why its so common and that there is no choice when the player charcter is meant to be self insert in videogames. The reason its so common is cuz women (and other groups of folks) have sh*t chances to get the education needed too and be hired too make media compared to strait white guys. And what happens when the folks who write and draw media are all the same? They make it all the same, and it will, naturally trend to what they prefer subconiously when they create. That on its own isnt bad, making what you like rather, but the problematic part of this is that A. the creators being my a big majority strait white guys and B. our culture and market assuming most customers are strait white guys.

When a charcter looks like you, ya relate to them more, and those who aren't white and strait are being left out, and sexy outfits being so common sets the standard that women have to be sexy, when they dont want too, and thats operative part of this porblem. And no, it doesnt need to be solved by getting rid of sexy outfits all tighter, there are people who like to be sexy in what they wear. There just needs to variety so the standard doesnt exclude to such a massive degree, and in interactive media when you are able to chose the outfit for your charcter, there need to be viable options for both suggestive and non suggestive outfits for all sexes.

Anyway just wanted to get that out, peace.
