So I took my car to a dealer to figure out the problem with it. Yada yada something to do with the transmission broke and now I'm going to be $3,900 poorer. And it won't be ready until the 3rd because the part's on backorder. So fuck me pretty much. At least the good news is I have just enough saved so I'm not totally fucked.

The owner's a friend of the family so I do trust them not to bend me over just because they can. Plus the first shop I took it to couldn't even recreate the issue. So the dealer is technically the second opinion. It's complicated. And besides I need my car ASAP for work.
IMO? For that amount of money, I'd just buy a new car
