My Episode Review on The Three Stooges: Whoops, I'm an Indian! · 8:43pm Nov 21st, 2020

Greetings, my friends.

This is your top-of-the-line film, TV show, and episode reporter here with another review.

Today, for my 46th episode analysis, and the 4th installment of my "Thanksgiving Treat", I'm gonna give you guys my take of the Three Stooges's "Whoops, I'm an Indian!".

Here's the rundown of it:

After they're discovered to be con artists cheating a gambles, the Three Stooges go on the run as fugitives of the law. In an attempt to further avoid the Sheriff and his posse, the trio disguise themselves as indians.

I have to admit, whenever I look back on this episode I've often found myself having mixed feelings towards the Stooges being criminals. It's mainly because it didn't put them in the most likable of roles.

However, after recently watching it in order to make this review, I'm proud to say that the whole thing didn't spoil or ruin the short from being enjoyable. As a matter of fact, "Whoops, I'm an Indian" was much more fun than I remembered it being.

For instance, the direction by Del Lord, the story by Searle Kramer and Herman Boxer, and the screenplay by Clyde Bruckman, were hysterically well-done! Every joke in the short was executed with terrific timing and wit, and the overall story had brilliant unpredictability. As the very first short to take place in the Western times, I found it to be very original.

Finally, the performances of the cast and characters were as entertaining as ever. It was amazing how the Stooge trio themselves, despite their roles being as thieves and con artists, were able to retain the spirit of their characters. Plus, Bud Jamison was quite a scene-stealer in his portrayal of Pierre, and the accent he incorporated (of which I don't know as of yet) gave his performance a great flavor.

In conclusion, "Whoops, I'm an Indian!" was a worthy entry of the Three Stooges filmography. It has all the hallmarks to make a true Stooge short, and there were apparently quite a lot of risks taken that were worth jumping into in the long run.

So, I rate "Whoops, I'm an Indian!" five out of five stars.
