Thats not what I meant. I know Kiwis are the native birds, but WHY put Kiwis in equestria? Therstrals ain't a random concept cuz it has at least SOME connection to the world, so it makes sense to use its name for Australia, for it's name similarly.
But Kiwis just feels... random, and ordinary, ya' know? If you combined some mystical creatue's name thats similar or related to the country, or just used the mystical creature's name itself and turn it in to a country name, than it would have feeled natural for me. Hope you know what I'm saying here.
(Buuuuut, when you start considering the talking cows, the cat people in the comic series, or some other sapient species, then it does kinda make sense like Kiwis could live there.)
