Arc 2 Complete · 3:55pm Nov 20th, 2020
Thank you everypony, for sticking with me through the second Arc of Ponest Dungeon. It’s been extremely fun to write, and I’m relieved to have finally posted it. I’ve gotten a lot of supportive comments, and actually ended up being featured several times during the past week and a half of posting. So again, I’ll say thank you to everypony who’s been reading.
So, news on Arc 3:
I’m already about 28k words into my first draft of Arc 3. I can’t exactly give a timeframe for it, since the timeframe for the initial writing of the horsewords can vary wildly depending on which stage of the process I’m in. I do hope for the timeframe to be significantly less than between Arc 1 and Arc 2, 2019 and 2020 have not been good years for me, but I am back in the swing of things, so I’m hoping to make faster progress.
Now, I do plan on releasing Arc 3 in a similar manner to the way I’ve done the last two. That is to say, waiting until the whole Arc is complete, and then releasing it in it’s entirety.
Now, I’m not doing this to be
I’m doing it so that I guarantee that there won’t be some incredibly long break between chapters in the middle of a particular storyline due to writer’s block or something else delaying completion. It also lets me double-check to make sure I haven’t gone and completely contradicted myself on something timeline-wise, which is a real issue when dealing with eldritch horrors that like to ignore time, and the existence of precise predictions & whatnot.
Anywho, thank you all again, and I look forward to releasing more, hopefully sooner, rather than later.
Looking forward to it, whenever its dread emergence may come.
I think going a chunk at a time is working for this.
It's a bit remarkable, in the sense that I've all but proven such a thing wouldn't work for me. But then this project is rife with things that wouldn't work if I was trying them, notwithstanding how closely I'm working alongside it. I don't know how you juggle such a massive cast. I've seen you do it with multiple stories now, and I still don't fully understand how it works. But it does. You make it a strength to have this big bunch of ponies, and then focus in on the right couple at a time to move things along. It's remarkable!
Congratulations for making it this far.
