Even at this late stage in the fandom, it's always nice to see up-and-comers. The problem is finding them. i call this the "Redwood Problem." It's easy to notice the big names go, but spotting them as they arrive? Not so much.
I think we have a sprout.
Bicyclette has presented some great work in just a few months, one example of which is currently in the feature box. The 41-Second Goddess is a fascinating take on Chaos Pinkie, Mail Exchange presents a beautiful triangle of scorn, and the latest, Starlight Glimmer is a Hopelessly Oblivious Lesbian and We All Love Her For It, is self-explanatory in why it's great.
Do give them a look when you have a chance. You won't regret it.
Agreed!
Thanks for highlighting new authors like this

I made the blog at Estee's suggestion, if I'm being honest, though I'll try to make more of a habit of it.
We do not deserve you and your uplifting ways, Fan. I remember when you picked me up off the "ground."
I'll at least check the guy out, even if I haven't been reading as many fics lately.
-GM, master of Princesses.
Followed. Thanks for the rec.
Agreed, Bicyclette is one of a crop of promising/good new authors we've had lately.
And I'm rather interested to see who else you peg if you do make more a habit - there's some great talent that's come around lately and I'm always curious about having missed some others.
I was tempted to follow them but for the Hitler reference in their bio.

I don't think that's inherently a Hitler reference; I have tankie friends who say the same about Stalin (not that I agree and I don't think making fun of human rights abuses is any way of winning people over to the left. Other than Mao killing landlords. That will always be funny.).

unfortunately and irritatingly, i think the phrase has just about been engrained into general usage, ie the empire did nothing wrong, thanos did nothing wrong
New authors are always welcome. It’s tough starting out now, especially since the fandom isn’t in hyperactive mode at the moment.
And, not to stroke egos, a FOME signal boost is a big deal.
They seem promising authors. Yet hopefully us more underated, less shipy authors will get a chance to?
Idk. This may have came off as selfish

I did not know its origin until Trick's comment just now.

Yeah.... tone deaf or dog whistle? Either way... it's a shame.
yeah, 41-Second Goddess looks good :)
Originally I'd skipped out on reading Bicyclette's stuff due to their extremely weird summary formatting, among other things, but I must admit that, after reading them just now, 41-Second Goddess and the Starlight fic were both good. Nothing too remarkable, but above average.
Maybe I should plug some newer authors too. Applezombi in particular is stellar.

I seriously doubt it's intentionally anti-Semitic or anything horrible, but the last thing I want to deal with in my feed right now is that kind of drama when I'm not comfortable with the risk emotionally.
I don't think less of them as a writer, and I'm not judging them. I also reserve the right to change my mind, should my depression abate enough.
This sort of blogs are definitely a welcome thing. Fimfiction really needs to become aware of the quality of some of its lesser known authors (and of the lack thereof in some of its more popular ones, but that's a topic best reserved for elsewhere).

Personally I only ever knew of that sentence through the Berserk meme. I honestly don't think anyone is using it as you're implying. I find it weird you'd avoid following someone here over that for the reasons you provide yet spend time on the black hole of mental well-being that is Twitter.
5401623
No. Not here. Not after two other people provided counterarguments that didn't insult her directly before you.
5401494
That's a decent point. Still, I've followed a couple of people on Fimfiction who had big warning flags in their bio that I ignored, and I ended up regretting my decision... but that's not a reason not to try. I'm just not in a good place emotionally right now, so I want to hold off.

That's a perfectly fair stance. I'm sorry to hear you had poor experiences with other writers on the site. I hope things will get better for you soon and you'll start feeling better than you are now.
What a nice thing you've just done.

It's okay to be selfish sometimes. Getting a following on an archive with slipping membership is very difficult, and I'm sure it can be frustrating.

Most of my experiences with authors here have been wonderful, just to be clear. It's only a few that cause problems, but some of them cause a lot of problems, and so far I refuse to use the block feature.
Yep, following Bicyclette now.
