Interview with Emotion Nexus · 4:09am Nov 19th, 2020

Interview RP format
Nailah as Snow Heart
Emotion Nexus as Emotion Nexus.

Snow Heart

Snow Heart basked in the light of the night sky. The evening always had a certain charm and grace to it. No pony bothered her at night, she had no royal duties to attain too, and finally she could breathe. It was such a simple thing. Breathing. Inhaling, then exhaling. So simple yet Snow Heart found it difficult. There was so much pressure on her to be a Princess for the pones all around her. They never saw it, she never let them. She never let on how weak she actually was. They'd never see her cry. But she wasn't alone. Not tonight. She wrapped a wing around Emotion and nuzzled her
"I figured I could use a distraction. And you definitely have waited long enough for some one on one time. Tell me, how did you get into mlp?"

Emotion Nexus

Emotion blushed at the contact, but did nothing to move away
"How did I get into it? Well, there was this nice fellow I found on the internet while browsing videos who had made a review and I just thought 'Why not? I have time to kill.' Everything after that is history."
Emotion tentatively leaned forward, giving Snow Heart a nuzzle of her own. A smile crossed her face, becoming more comfortable in the winged embrace.
"I'll admit not the grandest of introductions, but it got me hooked."

Snow Heart

"I see. Well it's certainly more interesting then "I thought Rainbow Dash was cool and eventually that got me here." Snow Heart chuckled at her own lack of a proper introduction, but this wasn't about her. It never was. These interviews were all about spreading the light of others, and her friend had a lot of shining to do. Snow saw a star in Emotion, even if she didn't see her itself. Returning the nuzzle, and just relaxing, she looked up to the stars*
"They say if you wish on a star it'll come true. I've never believed that. You have to work hard for anything you want in life. You have to be the best, you have to be strong." she smiled looking right at Emotion.* "But I'm willing to let you see me for who I am, here and now. Tell me Emotion, what inspires you to write?"

Emotion Nexus

She looked at the stars along with her, idly watching them as they twinkled in the sky, admiring them, for she didn't often get to see a sight like this
"Well, I usually take inspiration from characters, how they're portrayed, and how I view their connections, but more generally, it's because it lets me connect my feelings together. It's kind of like constellations. Sure, they make sense on their own, but there's a totally different feeling letting them be seen in full, polished with that extra shine of fantasy added on.
She blushed, turning back to Snow
"Erm... Sorry, I get a bit wordy when I describe my experiences."

Snow Heart

"Nothing to be sorry for hun." began Snow Heart, booping her right on her muzzle. "A good friend of mine once said “Hey, we talked about this. No apologizing when there’s nothing to be sorry for."" Snow Heart paused reaching a hoof out and petting her head. "You know I've always felt a connection with the sky, long before I had these wings. I used to look up and think of all the stars shining so brightly, if only I could somehow give others a chance to be a star themselves. I know this is hard but I have to ask you. What advice would you give a new writer, just joining the fray for the first time?"

Emotion Nexus

Shaking off the surprise from being booped so suddenly, Emotion's face turned thoughtful.
"If I have any real advice, and this goes for everyone, not just writing ponies; find a balance between quality and fun. Emotional and creative outlet not withstanding, when you focus too much on making sure things turn out good, like I've been doing for the past few weeks, you end up unsatisfied with everything you try to write. On the other hoof, when you focus too much on fun, you'll lose the structure and style you might've had when focusing on quality."
She sighs, annoyance in her eyes.
"I've had plenty of great ideas ruined by overthinking things for so long I forget many of the things that made me interested in the first place."

Snow Heart

"Oomph. That sounds rough. You know if you ever need any help, you could just ask. I'd make time for you hun." Snow offered. She wasn't really much of an editor though, and her favorite one was booked. Snow Heart thought about it, before she thought of how to phrase this next question, or inquiry really. "Tell me, is there anything about Emotion you'd like to tell me? About the writer behind the pony?"

Emotion Nexus

Emotion's face lit up with surprise, a red hue taking hold of her cheeks.
"Yo-you really want to know more about me? I'm nopony special."

Snow Heart

"HEY, that's my line. Copyright infringement." Snow nipped back at her. "If you don't wanna say it's fine. But just know no matter what your story is, you'll always be special to me." spoke Snow Heart, reaching out to pet her head once more. "Now, what do you enjoy doing besides writing? Have any hobbies like slaying dragons, and saving the Princess from the jaws of evil?"

Emotion Nexus

Emotion laughed at her suggestions, a deep laugh that rumbles through her core.
"N-no, that's... I'm not that adventurous!"
Calming down, she composed herself.
"Well, besides writing, I'm very into music, she said, pointing to her brightly colored pair of headphones on her head. "Most of my time is spent singing, although given my nature I usually do it when no one's around. I have dabbled in playing music, but that's a long ways off."
She tried to hide it, but a nervous jitter started in her, worried about her word choice.

Snow Heart

"Awwwh, shucks. I haven't heard your voice yet, but I'm sure it's lovely. Because you are a wonderful pone. You know you inspire me." Snow Heart smiled. "Your out here making a name for yourself without even being aware you're doing it. It's kind of neat to watch you rise up in status, and maybe fame. But if you ever need tips on how to hide, come see me. I'm the expert of hide and seek." Snow Heart smiled brightly, letting go of Emotion.*
"Tell me Emotion, is there anything you'd like to ask me?"

Emotion Nexus

The nervousness grew, with a hint of thoughtfulness as Emotion picked her words carefully.
"Well... I know I've seen you at some low points before but... How do you stay so positive? I feel like I can only go a couple days before I'm dragged back under the water."
She let out a sigh.
"You seem like a paragon of 'glass half full', I just have to wonder how you do it..."

Snow Heart

"You know if I knew that I'd write a book about it. It's not easy. It's a constant fight. It's almost like there are multiple Nailah's in my head. I mean Snow. Yes...that's what I meant to say. There's the side of me with all the doubt, all the shame, all the guilt and weight of being a failure at life, but then there's this side of me, the side you see. I choose happiness because I don't want to be sadz. I am so tired of hurting. I spent too many years afraid to say anything, afraid to speak up. I decided no more. I would be bold, I would be blunt, I would lay my heart on the table for all to see, even if sometimes they can see just how much that heart can hurt, but it's because of the wonderful ponies that surround me. They are how I keep smiling, How I keep moving. There's no secret formula. No tips I can give. Only that when you find it, cling to it with all you have, espicially when you have nothing. I'm not really any pony special. It's all of you that are special to me. <3"

Emotion Nexus

"That... That helps a bit. Thanks."
Emotion fumbled with her hooves slightly, a shy smile coming to her face. It was interesting having a proper conversation on a topic she enjoyed, and it felt nice to have an understanding of someone that trusted her.
"You're a pretty nice pony Snow, don't you doubt it. I'm glad I got to talk with you."
Her face warped onto confusion.
"Although, what was that you mentioned about someone named Nailah? Are they a relative? Someone close to you?"

Snow Heart

Snow Heart giggled "Nailah isn't related to me. she's just a character in a game. It's called Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn. She's the wolf queen. I love wolves." Snow Heart admitted, blushing slightly. "Every pony thinks frogs are my favorite animal, but it's actually wolves. But anyways, it was truly a pleasure getting to know you a bit better. Before we go in for cake and cupcakes, or maybe some pineapples...

Snow paused

"Is there anything you'd like to say to them?" she pointed to the fans of hers that seemed to follow her everywhere, and she didn't know why. She really was just a pony.

Emotion Nexus

Emotion turned with a blush on her face to look at the fans.
"Uhh... That's a lot of ponies... Uh, well, I hope to see you on the other side, and have fun reading and writing!"
Leans in close and whispers to Snow Heart, "Do they ever leave?"

Snow Heart

"Yeah sometimes. But they like being around me. They think if they're close to me they'll learn some super duper secret. I really wish I had all the answers. Honestly. There's a lot about me they don't see. But hey, let's go get some grub. I'm starving." She spoke pulling at Emotion's hoof, and pulling her forward, letting out a screee.* "When the world is crazy, and everything seems dark, I find light in the stars, and wish I could be one too, just like you. How you shine so brightly. You inspire me. Thank you for allowing me the pleasure Emotion."
