Here's a little preview of what the prologue will be about. I hope you like it...
"Something's wrong, gentlemen?" I asked as my gaze traveled to each and every one of the soldiers inside the truck, who were waiting for what the copilot would need to tell me...
"Bastogne is upfront, Lieutenant," The copilot said. "Approximate ETA to the city of three minutes maximum, you'll have to get off right before arriving." He ended up notifying while his gaze remained fixed forward...
"Okay," I said in response. "But what about the paramedics' platoon?" I asked, to which the driver answered instead of his partner...
"A camp will be set up just for them, so they can have a place to attend the wounded; in addition, we also take the few left from the artillery company to the northern edge of the city, where they'll be able to offer heavy support fire."
"Okay then," I replied. "I'll prepare my people to get off as soon as you tell us."
I stepped back once, but the driver's voice stopped me. "Oh, and Lieutenant?" I turned to see him. "As soon as you see the Germans, tell them Uncle George sends his regards." Then he started to laugh, to which I chuckled and replied.
"Rest assured that I will."
I closed the rack and walked towards the others, everyone was looking at me, waiting for orders...
"Take your things and bundle up," I warned as my eyes fell on my brother. "Soon, we'll get off, so get ready."
