You know, I used to like displaced... For a while. But now I wouldn't say I like it.

First, some characters are just absolutely broken. 'Hey look, I can destroy the entire world!' and in general feels like a self insert.

Second, I was skeptical about the whole multiverse thing, now I just don't like it. The thing is It's much worse when the story is connected to another story because if I want to know what happened from point a to b, I might have to read another story I hate. And reading the middle half of another story and missing all the context? No, I'm not going to do that, but then I'll have to read the entire story. And often I just don't like that story mostly because it probably has the first problem of just broken characters.

Third- I just realized I tired my third point in with the second...

I think I'm about done ranting here. I've seen some good displaced, but I'm about done with that genre. While I still like HiE, the displaced genre isn't one Im touching.
