Ideas for Projects. If you see anything you like, take it and make it your own. Most of these have probably been done in some way or another, but they might give you a different idea while reading them or you might decide to use it anyway. Just because it's been done before doesnt mean you shouldn't do it. Yours will be different im sure.

18. A foal's parents get killed in front of him in an alley outside a theater that the father owned. The mother was a batpony. The father... was a changeling. This foal was BORN for the night. He grew up to be quite the detective. Some could even compare him to Sherlock Hooves. Well... if anyone even knew him. He is a shapeshifter after all, and he is out to seek justice against criminals and corruption. Certain nobles want him arrested as he is not official law enforcement, Celestia and later Luna WANT him to be official. But even the princesses aren’t above the law, so they simply… delay it for him.
21. Instead of defeating enemies with rainbows. The agents of Harmony Intelligence (HI), started by Celestia after her sisters fall, must use their skills and intelligence to figure out why the said villain is a villain in the first place and save them IF they can. The mane group, squad [redacted] (Mane 6) are the go-to for world-ending threats such as returning family members, corrupted kings, magic sucking minotaurs, shapeshifting bugs, lords of chaos, and... a little filly?... oh! and a little filly that nearly ended all magic. Detective stories.
22. MLP except for Egyptian-ish and the Princesses are gods. Not omnipotent ones, but powerfully nonetheless.

55. Horror. Alan Wake inspired redesign of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Issue #36 and 37.
The Umbrum were sealed away, but Amore's grandmother wasn't done with them. She cursed the Umbrum and the dimension that was made to seal them in with powerful artifacts. Forcing the to enact whatever was written near a blue Umbrum crystal in the castle. The environment and the Umbrum themselves would twist and change to fit the descriptions in the stories. Ponies would then be able to use Umbrum Crystal's to watch the "plays". This was perfect since the Umbrum couldn't die or even be hurt. They managed to send someone to the other side... Sombra... but he lost his memory and couldn't remember his mission. After his defeat at twilight hands, he remembers.
Amore had all the information destroyed and forbid the use of the crystals, after a close call when someone accidentally helped an Umbrum to their side. They didn't think that was possible, they underestimated the power of the curse. Apparently, it can affect the real world too.
Twilight is studying the Umbrum alone in the crystal library after she found a red and blue Umbrum crystal in a lockbox. Twilight is slowly bringing the remaining information together, not fast enough, unfortunately. Sombra sees an opportunity. He reverses the spell on twilight and takes control of her. He turns her innocent history notes into a battle for survival, with the fate of the world on the lines. Luckily twilight resisted just enough.
Over half of the story will take place in a place similar to the upside-down from stranger things except that's where the Umbrum are and twilight gets trapped there for a while. Umbrum are in place of the Taken. Instead of a light switch, it’s the crystal heart. Twilight is in place of Alan Wake. Instead of a flashlight, it's a few changeling crystal lights filled with love magic. (I'll explain how she got those when I figure it out myself). In place of Zane’s wife, the old woman in funeral attire, its Sombra. The Lady of the light is Amore. The diver Zane it is radiant hope. In place of Alan's wife is cadence. Or maybe cadence will be other.
83. Lord of the Alicorns. Friendship of the... amulet… it’s a working title. A LOTR-like story plays out in Equestria and beyond with the alicorn amulet… or something like that.

153. AU. This idea is a mess, but it’s one of my favorites.
The ponies are ruled by dragons that saved them from the windigos long ago. They move to this new land, bringing the frozen threat with them threatening the dragons living there. As a tribute to being saved from a threat THEY brought, the ponies have served the dragons ever since. But things have changed in Draconia over the last 1, 2, or 3000 years (haven't decided), the semi-benevolent rulers have passed and now more tyrannical dragons rule. Ponies are less like semi-willing servants now and more like slaves and pets. It is up to Betwix the twilight dragon and her adopted unicorn brother Book Spine to rally the leaders of the 3 pony tribes and their generals, (the other mane 5 plus starlight) and help put the dragon/changeling (haven’t decided how changelings fit in this yet) sisters Solara and Lunara (or maybe keep them as alicorn sisters Celestia and Luna?) in power so the ponies may finally be equals. I don’t know... the general idea is that the Pegasi are faster and more perceptive than dragons, the Unicorns are magically more powerful and smarter, and the Earth Ponies are more enduring, better at supplying food and agriculture, and mining than dragons, but the dragons are overall better than the average pony due to size, strength, and knowledge. Also, the dragons are the only thing between the ponies, and unimaginable horrors including the windigos, so they need the dragons to be their friends. Luckily, there are a lot of pony sympathizers among the dragons. Most are simply neutral and don't care either way…
156. Luna didn't get banished to the moon, neither did she go to war. She took all those loyal to her, left, and made her own empire quite far away. Now their empires have both grown to the point their borders are touching and they have started having small skirmishes for land. No one has died yet thankfully, but that might change as tensions are rising... the sisters still aren't talking to each other. (Optional: one or both of the sisters are being deceived by someone right below them or some third party, that the other sister is doing it on purpose and they have refused communication.)

171. Chrysalis successfully replaced Cadence, but that made things interesting during the Crystal Empires return. Cadence is alive but heartbroken. Might keep Chrysalis a villain, might make her see the error of her ways. Might have Shining divorce Chrysalis as her name was on the marriage contract and all the agreements, might have it so she wrote Cadences name and voiding the marriage completely, or might have them BOTH marry him… IDK…
Alternate: Chrysalis dies in the Crystal Empire, instead of her taking Cadence’s place, Cadence ironically takes hers… She gets turned into part changeling so she can rule the hive. She is a little pissed about everyone not noticing it wasn’t her. Might make it so she doesn’t tell any of them and just let them think she’s dead until they find out.
