End of October Update · 4:47am Oct 30th, 2020
I suppose an update is owed, to all the kind folk about here who've deigned to read my stories and take a measure of joy from them.
This whole month has been a bit of a writing disaster. In that, I haven't written much. Oh, a few thousand words here or there, but not enough. Not nearly enough. My energy levels took a dive, and have yet to really recover. A potent cocktail of stress from life and work, COVID, politics, and some drama with my Saturday night gaming crew have severely reduced my ability to find time to write.
Not that I've stopped. Merely slowed down. And with my attempting something for Nanowrimo, I don't see that changing soon. But, working on a new project, I think it will re-energize me a little. That seems to be how I work. Write one thing until a crippling lack of self-worth and paranoia force me to post something, and get a brief high off one or two comments from those who like it, or switch to a new project to get my mind off my wholly self-induced first-world problems. I really don't mean to sound so pathetic, but there you go.
Legend of Trixie is continuing apace. I was planning on a 2-chapter double update, once the current one I was working on was done. However, I am now thinking perhaps, in light of the long absence of that story from the update list, I might just release the first one now, and let people see what I've been cooking up. I believe the first chapter is more than done, held back only by that silly promise to release two at once.
So, if anyone thinks I should drop the first new Trixie chapter, sound off in the comments! I may or may not break and do it anyway by the time anyone reads this!
As for what's in that update? A little taste, I think.
Deer are wonderful. They provoke wonder.
Deer are marvelous. They cause marvels.
Deer are enchanting. They weave enchantment.
Deer are terrific. They beget terror.
Nopony ever said Deer are nice.
Deer are bad.
Whoooo! And don’t worry about the lack of updates; I’ve had my own dry spell recently for similar reasons. Just work on Valve time.
Elk and elf are just one letter apart, after all...
If you got a new chapter, might as well release it.
Fey deer invasion? That sounds interesting. I would have expected them to be cats, but I suppose deer are more ponylike in the same way that fey are generally humanoid.
