So, it's been about a week and no one has come forward about Adopting my stories. In the meantime, I thought I'd post the rest of what I had previously written for The Phantom of Friendship, for anyone who would be curious as to what the plan I had for the story was. Enjoy!
(Immediately after the events of the previous blog post)
So…… Breakfast with the Princesses and the Elements of Harmony… Not award at allllllll.
Nearly everypony in the dining room except Twilight was eyeing at me wearily, even Pinkie Pie was giving me the stink eye from across the table.
I should probably explain how I ended up at a dinner table with two of the three princesses, all the Elements of Harmony and at least three dozen guards lining three of the four walls of the dinning room.
After Twilight and I broke off our hug back at the Castle, Celetia appeared to congratulate them on getting the Elements of Harmony and cleansing her sister, Luna. However, as soon as Celestia laid her eyes on me she immediately panicked and tried to blast me with a spell of some kind. I was really taken by surprise when she did that. Out of everypony there I expected Rainbow Dash to be the one to attack me, not Celestia.
Now, to be fair to Celestia, I was a mysterious “Pony” with white fire instead of normal colorful hair. However I also reserve the right to be somewhat pissed that she was the type of pony to literally shoot first and ask questions later. If it wasn’t for Twilight putting up a shield I would have… would have….
Honestly, I actually have no idea what would have happened. Maybe I’d die, maybe I’d become a real girl like Pinochio, or maybe her magic just wouldn’t affect me. I didn’t know because I didn’t make it a habit to have magic anything near my body. Anyway, Twilight was able to throw up a shield around us and beg Celestia not to attack me. So Celestia continued on with the exact same speech she gave when she saw Luna again in the show, which I swear she practiced in front of a mirror. You don’t just see your sibling after a thousand years and NOT cry like a baby. I mean really, Pinkie Pie cried more than both of the Princesses combined at their reunion.
After that she invited the Elements and I to breakfast at the palace to get to know the Elements better. I knew that was a load of Changeling Dung because she didn’t do that in the show at all. No, this was all to see if I was a threat or not. She didn’t even bother getting carriges or anything, it was just a straight up teleportation from the castle to the palace dinning room.
Twilight’s a smart cookie, so of course she knew the importance of this breakfast and has been keeping a calm disposition while I was sweating bullets like a yakyakistan athlete.
“So, Twilight. You’re telling me that this ‘Dani’ is your foalhood imaginary friend?” Celestia asked with clear skepticism in her voice.
“That’s right, Princess Celestia. I made Dani a few hours after I was accepted to be your personal protege Although she’s changed a lot since then I still recognize her from the Cutie mark I gave her. Although I could have sworn it used to be white.” Twilight replied to Celestia.
“I see. Dani, would you care to explain how the Elements of Harmony made you real?” Celestia asked me.
“Um… Well the Elements are really weird. I mean, they turned Discord to stone, banished Nightmare moon to the moon, and then they purified her. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had a mind of their own or something.” I told her. Celestia raised a brow at one of my earlier statements, which made me realize that Discord being a stone statue was more of a legend than a factual event. Luckily, she didn’t call me out on it, probably assuming that I just blindly believed the legend.
“If the Elements of Harmony are meant to represent friendship then maybe they wanted to mend one of my broken friendships with Dani.” Twilight explained.
“hmmm. That does seem possible but—“ Celestia was surprisingly cut off when Rarity flamed her hands on the table.
“Alright, I’ve had enough of this. I’m sorry to interrupt you Princess but I simply must get this out of the way. You!” Rarity said pointing at me as I shrunk into my chair.
“Where on Equis did you get that jacket? It’s very fashion forward. I could imagine doing something like that except with a black sleeve and a pink jacket instead of white, oh with a lovely bedazzled collar as well that would three fourths pink gems and one fourth black. Oh I can feel my creative juices flowing! Please tell me how and where you got it.” She asked. I relaxed a bit once I realized that she was just excited to talk about fashion.
“Oh, uhhhh you can thank Twilight for that, Rarity. After all she made me as awesome as I look. She’s got a big ol’ imagination just waiting to burst out of that massive library she calls a brain.” I told Rarity as I ruffled Twilights hair.
“I’m not that creative.” Twilight said.
I gave Twilight a deadpanned look. “Twilight, I am literal proof that you are. I mean, fire hair? How awesome is that?” I asked, hoping that I could give Twilight a little confidence boost. She was always someone you had to pretty much force compliments on because they didn’t think they were good enough to deserve them.
“wow, you two seem really close.” Fluttershy nearly whispered.
“Yeah, Twi and I were the best of friends when she was a filly.” I said, right before I slammed my hands on the table and looked at Twilight with a gleam in my eyes as an idea popped into my head. “OH! Twilight, let’s do the dace!”
“T-T-The dance. But were in front of royalty and—“ I cut Twilight off as I clasped both my hands together.
“Oh pleeeeaaase, Twilight. It’s been forever since we did it. And besides, you and Cadence did it all the time.” I told her.
“Uh, what are you two talking about?” Rainbow Dash asked us.
“I-It’s nothing! Nothing at all. It’s just… I used to have this dance me and my foalsitter would do. It’s silly.”
“And what’s wrong with being silly Twilight? If Dani want’s to do your special dance then you should.” Pinkie Pie interjected. And with that, she was instantly my second favorite pony.
“Oh pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease!” I begged Twilight, and I’m not ashamed to admit it. The last time I was able to do the dance with her was nice years ago.
“Ok ok, but can we do it later when there aren’t a lot of guards around? It’s pretty embarrassing.” Twilight asked me.
“FIiiiine.” I said as I straightened my posture in my seat.
“I must say if you did do the dance with her than she must be a very important pony to you Twilight. But I must ask, when did you lose touch with Dani?” Celestia asked Twilight innocently. Twilight looked down in shame for a moment while I glared at Celetia. She seemed to get the message straight away.
“Ah, forgive me that was perhaps too personal of a question. I’m sorry Twilight. I just want to know as much about your… friend as possible.” Celestia said.
“You mean see if I’m evil or something right?” I asked bluntly causing the table to look at me wide eyed as the guards tightened their grips on their spears.
If Celestia was surprised by my sudden blunt attitude she didn’t show it. “That is one way of putting it. Forgive me Dani, but you are essentially a being made out of magic that I can’t actually sense. I just find this whole situation rather odd.”
“And I conveniently showed up when Nightmare moon was vanquished. I get it Princess, but I want you to know that I will never do anything to hurt Twilight.” I said as I wrapped an arm around Twilight’s shoulders. “She’s been my only friend in this world and I would never do anything to ruin that.”
Rainbow Dash wore an approving smile as she looked at me from across the table. “So Dani, what’re ya gonna do now that you’re a real mare?” She asked.
“That’s… That’s actually a good question. I guess if it’s alright with Twilight I’ll stay with her. I-if that is ok… It is ok righ—”
“Of course it is Dani!” Twilight said as she embraced me in a powerful hug. “We have so much to catch up on! I can tell you about all the things I studied with Spike and-*GASP*-Oh my gosh, Spike will be so amazed to see you! He used to pretend that he could see you when he was a baby.”
My heart stopped for a moment when she said that. “R-Really?”
“Yeah, and he guessed what you looked like pretty well. Except he never knew your color scheme. The only parts he was right about were your green eyes and lack of pony ears. He also imagined you as being see-through and having a mermare tail.”
He could see me when I was invisible?! Spike was just a baby then! How does he have memories from when he was a Baby?! Could all dragons see me!?
“Really? That’s kinda funny.” I said as calmly as I could while I was panicking on the inside.
“Oh, a mermare? That sounds lovely. In fact, perhaps I could make you a Nightmare Night costume like that. I could use some nice green scales to compliment your eyes. And your flowing hair would give off a nice look to it too.” Rarity told me.
“Nightmare Night?” Luna asked with a raised eyebrow.
Pinkie Pie shot up to her feet and squeeled with joy. “Oh! it’s when everypo—“
I quickly jumped over the table and covered Pinkie Pie’s mouth. “It’s nothing! I-I mean it’s nothing special, but if you want to know I’m sure Princess Celestia or somepony else could tell you once you’ve… become reintroduce into the modern age.” I told her. All of the gaurds looked tense as they waited for one of the Princesses to do something while the girls, except for Twilight, seemed to look at me like I was crazy. Thankfully Twilight caught up quickly and saved us from that awkward conversation.
“Ahem. Yes, perhaps we can talk about that some other time. In the meantime I’m sure there are more important things to talk about.” Twilight said. I got back into my chair next to Twilight as she tried to change the subject.
“I concur. We shall learn about this night of Nightmares some other time. Perhaps you could inform my sister and I about the device the Nightmare had. We have not seen such a strange weapon before.” Luna said.
“Well, Nightmare Moon claimed somepony named Nonya Business was the original owner. I’ve never heard of anypony named Nonya before, so perhaps it was a griffin or dragon who originally owned it.” Twilight said. “Although that still doesn’t explain what it is. Maybe if I open it so—“ I cut Twilight off before she removed the lid.
“Don’t!” I screamed, once again gaining everypony’s attention.
“Don’t… Don’t you think we better leave it closed? Or at least give it to a guard or somepony instead of opening it here. I mean, what if it can hurt the Princesses?” I asked as I tried to think of a way to get my thermos back.
“She’s right Darling. If Nightmare Moon believed that… thing could harm the Elements, then I’d rather not use it near the Princesses.” Rarity said, coming in for the save.
“Oh my gosh, you right!” Twilight said before she protectively hugged my thermos and looked at Celestia with pleading eyes. “I’m so sorry that I almost did that Princess.”
“No worries Twilight. Dani does make a good point. Perhaps a guard or somepony should look into it somewhere where it can’t harm anypony.” Celestia said as she lit up her horn and teleported my Fenton Thermos away.
“For now we will keep it in the vault until I can get into contact with a professional in weapon studies.” Celestia finished.
Well, Changeling Dung… Guess I’ll need to get it back some other way.
One thing I learned from my new powers is that magic forcefields stop everything, and I mean everything from getting in. Ghost powers can’t really do much to it, so I’d have to wait and steal it back when she opened the door or something.
"So... Ya used to be Twilight's imaginary friend?" Applejack asked skeptically.
"Yeah. Twilight made me after she was accepted into Celestia's school for gifted unicorns as her personal student. She was really worried about losing the friends she had but I was there to reassure her that they wouldn't see her any differently."
"Riiight." She said as she took a bite of her apple. “An the Element’s of Harmony made ya a real Mare?”
“Uh, yup! Now if you don’t mind I need to go—“ I said before Applejack put her arm out blocking my path.
"Listen, I'm new to this whole 'Element o' Honesty' thing. But I know when somepony's lyin'. An I know yer not really Twilights imaginary friend." My eyes widened at that.
"So then what are ya? Are ya Nightmare Moon or somethin' and don't ya dare lie ta—“ I panicked and grabbed Applejack by her shirt, pulling her face to mine.
"Pleasepleaseplease Don't tell Twilight!" I begged Applejack. "Listen, I'm not evil or anything, heck, I didn't even want to be here. But that dumb rainbow blast hit me and forced me to reveal myself. If it didn't, then I was just going to keep an eye on her and the rest of you to make sure you were all safe! But if Twilight finds out I've been lying to her all this time it'll crush her!" I explained to Applejack.
Applejack was silent for a while before she finally spoke up. "Ya care an awful lot about Twi, don'tcha?" She asked. I only nodded in response.
“*sigh* Well, I can't say I like ya lyin' about bein' Twilight’s old imaginary friend, but I won't tell 'er if it means that much to ya." I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding.
"Thank you so much Applejack. I promise, you won't regret it."
"I better not. Jus one thing. If yer not Twilight's ol Imaginary Friend, who are ya?"
I thought about that for a moment, what do you tell the Mare who knows when you’re lying? “I’m… It's... It’s hard to explain, and I’m honestly not too sure myself. It's complicated. I know that’s not the answer you want but it’s the only one I can give, can you just trust me, I really do want what's best for all of you."
Applejack mulled my words over for a bit before she responded. "Alright, I'll trust ya. But only fer now. Ya do one thing ta hurt her or the rest o mah friends and you an me are gonna have problems. Got it?” She said, poking my chest. Bucking, ow!
"Got it." I said as I walked around Applejack and went back to Twilights room.
“A race?”
“Heck yeah! I heard you were able to fly, so I wanna race!”
“So, you’re cool with me being Twilight’s friend?”
“Course I am. Why wouldn’t I be?”
“I mean… I kinda look…. you know?” I said, gesturing to every part of me.
“Badflank? Heck yeah you do!”
“No, I-I meant… you know. different.”
“So?” Rainbow Dash shrugged.
“Soooo you don’t think I’m evil or anything?”
“Why, because your mane is on fire? I’ll admit, I thought you might have been bad news, but after breakfast with the Princesses I could tell you were cool.”
“How?”
“When you talked about not ruining your friendship with Twilight. I saw how loyal you were to her, it was a deep burning passion in your eyes.” Rainbow Dash told me. I admit, I did not expect her to be so… talkative.
“So you just took my word? That… that means a lot to me.”
“It wasn’t your word that gave me a good feeling about you, it was literally the loyalty I saw in your eyes. The type of loyalty where a pony is willing to die for somepony else. See, Applejack is honesty and knows when a pony lies. Pinkie Pie is laughter and is able to make anypony happy. Rarity is generosity so she knows when somepony is genuinely nice or dirty. And Fluttershy is able to bring out the kindness in any creature, including a ferocious manticore. I’m loyalty, so I pretty much know where your moral priorities lie.” Rainbow Dash explained.
“Huh… Never thought of that before… Wait, what about Twilight?”
“Easy, friendship, she’s able to befriend others and see if friendships are healthy or not.”
“Wait, I thought she was the element of magic?”
“And friendship iiiissss…..” Rainbow Dash trailed off waiting for me to finish.
“Magic?”
“You got it, dude.” Rainbow Dash said after playfully hitting my arm. Truthfully, that hurt like a motherbucker.
I rubbed my left arm and smiled at Rainbow Dash. “Thanks Rainbow.”
“No probs Dani, what’re buds for?”
With Twilight asleep and nothing to do, I decided to fly back over to Canterlot to see a certain sleeping douchebag.
Deciding that the cell looked a bit too cozy I decided to make it better by spitting on the dirt a bit so I could rub it deep into Blueblood’s skin. After giving him a good mud mask, I released Blueblood from my possession and let him unceremoniously flop to the dirty floor. He looked surprisingly peaceful while he slept on the ground in a dark and dank dungeon.
Dusting my hands off from another job well done, I started to walk towards the back wall when a voice made me freeze in place.
“So, it appear thou art the reason my Nephew sleeps in the dungeons.” Luna said to me as she appeared out of the shadows.
I froze as I looked between her and the sleeping Prince Blueblood.
“To be fair… Yeah I got nothing, sorry but your nephew is a prick.” I told her.
“I can conquer. Whilst I was getting accommodated with the palace he bumped into us and tried to flirt with us. We informed him that we were his Aunt Luna and he ran away screaming calling us a monster.”
My eyes widened at that. “Wow… I know I shouldn’t be surprised but I still am. Just when I think BlueBalls is an average Prick, he does something to remind me why he’s the Prince of Pricks.”
“You have a disturbing fixation with that word.” Luna told me.
I shrugged. “Got a better one?” I asked.
“At the moment, nay, we doth not. But this scene we have found leads to many questions. Such as how you just became real yet were somehow able to influence Blueblood to come to these cells at night.” Luna said as Blueblood begun to stir from our conversation.
“May haps we should move this conversation elsewhere. That is if thou can be trusted outside of a dungeon.”
“You can trust me Luna. How about we meet up in the observation tower?” I asked her.
“Very well Dani, we shall be waiting for you there. Know that if thou doth not come—“
“I’ll be there.” I told Luna as I waved a dismissive hand and phased through the wall. After that I turned invisible and flew up to the familiar observation tower. I remember when Twilight was younger she and I would just sit out there and watch the stars. She taught me about all the constellations like Starswirl’s Beard, the Galactic Griffin, and surprisingly enough the Little Dipper. Although there isn’t a Big Dipper anywhere in the sky so it’s just called the Dipper.
As I was remising, Luna appeared through the shadows and walked over to me.
“We must say, we are surprised that you kept your word spirit.”
“S-Spirit?” I asked fearfully.
“Yes. You doth not deceive us as we hath had experience with the undead even before our corruption. Though I know what thou are thine intentions are mysterious. Instead of fleeing thou stayed and attempted to deceive us rather than possessing one of us. And even when thou was caught possessing a member of royalty thou only did it to play a jest on him.” Luna said to me as she circled around me. I tried to follow her with only my eyes, as I was afraid any slight movement would be misinterpreted and perceived as an act of aggression.
“So Spirit you shall explain your reasons for staying, even when I have found out your secret. And doth not lie for we used to bear the Element of Honesty.” Luna warned me.
“Ok, well firstly I have no idea how ghosts in Equestria work so just know I’m not like them.” Luna raised an eyebrow at my statement. “A-and I don’t want to hurt anypony. I was telling the truth when I said I didn’t want to hurt Twilight. Not just because she’s my friend but because she’s important.” I explained, trying to distract her from my previous comment.
“Important? Explain.”
I swallowed. “I know things that you wouldn’t believe even with the power of the Element of Honesty. One of the things I know is that Twilight is important to not just me, not just her friends, but all of Equestria, and even Equis itself. Yesterday she banished the Nightmare and purified you with the Elements of Harmony, but tomorrow she’ll do things that make that act look almost small in comparison.” I explained to Luna.
Luna rubbed her chin in thought as she studied me. “Interesting. Thine words hold no deceit. They hold incomplete truths but not a single lie. Even thine claim that we would not believe your knowledge was truthful. But, just as a foal will always tell the truth when they claim Santa Mare is real but parents will lie, truth is only in conception. Thou doth believe I will not believe what you know but I wish to know anyway.”
I took a moment to think before I responded. “Alright, but… Could you promise not to tell Twilight or the others any of this?” I practically begged Luna.
“We will tell them what we believe they should know. As they have released me from mine curse I feel it only right to be truthful with them. But if thine truth holds danger that shall harm them I shall keep it to myself.”
“Thank you Princess Luna… Alright, there’s no easy way to say this… Iknowthefuture.” I quickly blurted out. Both of Luna’s eyebrows shot up before she slowly regained her regal neutral expression.
“And how did thou come across this knowledge?”
“I… Okay, imagine that you’re watching a really long play over and over again. You’ve done it to the point you have a vague memory of who will do what when, and then you’re suddenly thrusted into the play as a character that wasn’t there before. That’s what happened to me.”
“So… Thou came upon knowledge of our lands and the events that have and would transpire, and now you are part of our land. What is thy goal then?”
“To not screw up the timeline too much. I pretty much just did that by existing when I got here, and I didn’t want to even show myself. Nightmare moon trapped me in a device I came here with. When she opened the device I was able to escape but we were both hit by the rainbow tornado thing that the Elements shot at us. If I wasn’t in that blast none of you would have ever known about me.”
“Odd, Twilight seemed to know about you.”
“That’s because I lied when she was younger and pretended to be her imaginary friend. It’s pretty easy when you can turn invisible and intangible.”
“And what led you to stop this facade?” Luna asked me, my eyes began to feel damp at the memory.
“It… It’s personal.” I told her as I ignored my emotions and tried to keep up a relaxed demeanor. Suffice to say, it didn’t fool Luna even slightly.
“I see. Twilight reacted the same when when mine sister inquired her about the end of your relationship. I take it something happened?”
“SomePONY. A pony who’s currently in the dungeons now.” I said bitterly. Luna actually seemed to snap back as I scowled and looked at the floor.
“We see why you have dubbed him the ‘Prince of Pricks’ as thou said earlier. We can guess what happened, there is no need to tell us anymore. Suffice to say I see no evil in thine heart and no deceit in thine words. Thus I will not relinquish this information to the other Element Bearers or my sister.”
“Wait, why not you’re sister?” I asked.
“She has a… negative view towards the undead for justifiable reasons. For now I shall only say a Necromancer did something stupid and thus both spirits and Necromancy are heavily frowned upon in our current society. If she were to find out that thee were a spirit, then thou would be met with a very swift end.” I paled slightly as Luna told me that.
“But thou has nothing to fear. So long as you do not harm our subjects and adjourn to our laws we shall keep thy secret. But break our rules or our trust and there shall be no force on Equis to save thee. Do we make ourselves understood?” Luna warned me as she stared daggers into my eyes. I only nodded meekly.
“Good.” Luna finished as she patted me on the head. “Then enjoy thine time in the palace for now since Twilight will want to move to Ponyville.” Luna told me as she slowly descended into the shadows.
Before I flew out the window I looked over my shoulder at Luna. “Hey Luna?”
“Yes?”
“Just for the record. I think you’re the best princess.” I told her as I flew out the window and into the night sky, quickly turning myself invisible as to not catch any unwanted attention.
“I’m so happy you’re back Dani!” Twilight said as she squealed in joy.
“It’s good to be back Twi. I missed talking to you.” I said as I ruffled Twilights hair with one hand. “And wow, you’ve gotten so big!
(Zecora episode)
I walked over to Zecora and politely waved. “Hiya, my name’s Dani Phantom. What’s your name?” I asked as I stuck my hand out to Zecora.
Instead of greeting me with a nice rhyme she hissed at me and tried to scratch me.
“Whoa! What was that for!?” I shouted. Zecora just hissed at me again as she took off her hood.
Her eyes were both bright green and glowing. I became intangible as she leapt at me, causing her to go right through me and fall on the ground. I took this opportunity to pin her to the ground as she thrashed about.
“What the heck is wrong with you!?” I asked her. Zecora’s head than did a complete 180 and spewed some weird green stuff on me. It was just like my… “Ectoplasm?” I asked.
As I was distracted, “Zecora” hit me across the face with her staff, sending me tumbling to the ground.
“Thank you stranger for saving me from the evil spirit of the Everfree. I thought I may never be free.”
“What do you mean? What happened?”
“You see, Zecora is my name and I was possessed by a spirit that was detached from our mortal plane. A spirit filled with malice and hate controlled my body and thus my fate. I don’t know why the spirits are acting this way, they only tell me to run and pray. They tell me to ‘Listen well and beware, for a creature of madness lurks out there. And to fight this beast you must prepare, lest we be swallowed by the nightmare.’ ”
Nightmare Moon… she was still out there…
(Dani threatens Discord's statue.)
“Alright Discord, I know you can hear me in there.” I told the draconequs statue. “Listen good and listen well. Something big is happening and the timeline has gone to shit. Meaning that there’s no way for me to restore it to the O.G. timeline even if I wanted to. So, I want you to know that I. Don’t. Give. A. Buck.” I said as I poked in-between his eyes with each word. “I don’t care about keeping the timeline in order, making sure events play out nearly the same, or any of that.
“So that means that when you get out of this statue you have two choices. Either play nice and cause minimal chaos to sustain yourself, or you can take a one-way trip to the Ghost Zone. And believe me, it’s really boring in there. Nothing but rocks and green clouds. Not even a single resident to torment. But, if you’re a good little boy I’ll let you be the king of it. Think about it, the king of a land with no subjects, how much more random and contradictory can you get?” I ask the statue before covering my mouth with one hand and doing a bad Discord impression with the other.
“Oh yes~. That does sound fun. Tell me, what can I do in there.” I ask myself.
“Well be a good boy and instead of a prison, it’ll become a kingdom filled with a lot of bad guys for you to mess with. Think about it, Sombra on a treadmill will a crystal just outside his grasp, Nightmare moon stranded on a Hawaiian beach where it’s always sunny, A Tirek who can’t get directions to an all you can eat buffet of magic, and a bunch of bad ghosts that you can mess with too. All of it can be yours Discord. All you have to do is not go on a chaos rampage as soon as you get out. So, do we have a deal?” I rhetorically ask the immobile statue.
“I’ll take your silence as a definite maybe. I’ll be seeing you around Discord.” I said, as I waved goodbye and flew off.
(A Lunaless Nightmare Moon captures Dani and uses her as bait to bring the Element Beareers to the old castle once more.)
“Ahahah. You won’t be using the elements on me. Otherwise, you might hit your dear friend Dani.” Nightmare moon playfully warned them.
“So what! It won’t do anything to Dani, she’s not evil like you!” Dash called out.
“Yeah, what makes you think the Elements will do anything to her?” Twilight asked.
Nightmare moon smiled as she broke into a roar of laughter. “HAHAHAHA! You can’t be that gullible, can you Magic?”
“What are talking about?” Twilight asked as she glared at Nightmare moon.
Nightmare moon for her part was taken aback by Twilight’s response before she smiled evily. “Oh… Oh my, you are that gullible! It’s both hilarious and truly pathetic. I mean really, Dani Phantom. “Y-you’re lying!” Twilight screamed at Nightmare moon.
“Am I?” Nightmare moon asked as her smug smile gained an extra level of shit eating. “What do you say Honesty? Am I lying when I say Dani Phantom is just that? A spirit?” She asked.
“I-I… W-Well that don’t mean she’s anythin’ like you ya nasty varmit!”
“Oh, but she is! I was driven by Luna’s desires to create an eternal night. If she wanted an eternal day so would I, and if she wanted to live on the moon forever than so would I. Little Dani and I are exactly the same. You want to make your precious Magic happy. Well, I want to make Luna happy and if I have to destroy the sun itself to do it then I will. Tell me young Dani, what would you do to make Magic happy? Conqour a kingdom? Slaughter a village? Steal from the royal archives?” My eyes widened at the mention of the royal archives.
“Oh, I see you did one of those. Mind if I make a guess which one?” Nightmare moon asked.
“Go Buck yourself!” I screamed at her before she used her magic to seal my mouth shut.
“Language dear~. There’s no need for both Luna and Magic to not be happy. You want to make Magic happy, and I want Luna to be happy. If you help me defeat her friends then I will give Magic knowledge and spells beyond Pony comprehension. She could live the rest of her mortal or immortal life happy in an infinite library

“Helllllllo Equestria!” Discord said as he popped up in the middle of the room.
“Allow me to introduce myself. I am Discord, Master, King, Spirit, and God of both Chaos and references. And I’ve come bearing gifts.”
“Gifts?”
“Yes, you see I had a lovely one-sided conversation with Dani here and she told me that if I did anything evil or wicked that I would be punished severely by her. So, after that whole thing with Nightmare moon happened there was enough chaos in the air to allow me to escape my prison and I decided to do something nice for the Elements of Harmony.” He said before snapping his claws and summoning the elements on the necks and head of their respective bearers.
“So I’ve devised a list of gifts for each of you. For Applejack an extra hundred acres or land for your apple trees along with dozens of employees who will work for dirt cheap costs but still put all their effort in, and contracts with several companies making it so they can only use, eat, and sell Sweet Apple Acres products.” Discord said as he snapped his tail and gave Applejack a dozen legal documents.
“For Pinkamena Dianne Pie I have also increased her family’s rock farm and employee count, as well as created the infinity cook book. A cook book with infinite recipes of any desert ever created or imagined.” Discord snapped again, this time using his tongue to do it, giving Pinkie Pie her infinity cook book which she immediately tore open and attempted to commit to memory.
“The next one is a twofer. Fluttershy and Rarity will become gods of the fashion industry with Rarity using the rarest materials on Equis to create for Fluttershy to wear as she struts down the isle with a newfound sense of confidence given to her by this nifty little meddle. It belonged to a very brave lion before I got it. Oh, and speaking of animals you have already been signed up to donate a large sum of any profits earned to go directly to each and every animal charity in Equestria.” Discord finished as he snapped his talons, putting the meddle the Cowardly Lion got from Oz from the movie The Wizard of Oz. Fluttershy seemed to stand a bit taller as the meddle was placed on her new green dress, which also appeared when Discord snapped his talons.
“What do I get?” Rainbow Dash squealed with joy.
“Oh, not much Captain Dash.”
“Captain?” Rainbow Dash tilted her head.
“Yes, Captain of the Wonderbolts. Captain Dash, fastest flyer in all of Equestria~. So fast that you should be able to congratulate Scootalo on miraculously learning how to fly out of nowhere. I wonder how that happened…” Discord said innocently.
“Really!? I gotta go and—"
“Up-up-up. We still have one pony who hasn’t gotten a gift. Twilight~.” I really don’t like the shifty eyes he gave Twilight.
“For you I have decided to unlock my library. I have quiet the collection of books from other worlds. Different histories, different types of magic, even different types of Equestrias. Just use this key on any door and you’ll get there.” He said as he pulled out a key from his chest and handed it to a wide-eyed Twilight.
“And the last gift for you Twilight is friendship.” He said before pulling out my thermos.
“How did—" I tried to ask before I was sucked up inside the thermos. I heard everyone yell my name as I was sucked in.

“DANI!” The girls and I called out as Dani was sucked up into her thermos.
“Honestly, I don’t know why she thought that this tin can would be able to hurt me.” Discord said as he juggled the thermos in one hand.
“Let Dani out right now!” I yelled at Discord.
“Oh, I will Twilight. But, I need payment for my gifts. After all nothing is free in this world.” He said.
“But that’s the entire point of gifts!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed as she tried to grab the thermos and missed.
“Well I’m the Spirit of Chaos. What did you expect? At first I was going to torment you all and make you into opposite versions of yourselves but my chat with Dani taught me something very important. Friendship is magic, and exploitable~. You want Dani, I want your elements. But, instead of just taking them I thought we’d make this a fun game. Rainbow Dash is the Element of Loyalty,” He said, pointing at Rainbow Dash. “and she would do anything for her friends, much like Dani. But would she be willing to betray her friends to help dear Scootallo?”
“ARE YOU THREATENING SCOOTS!?” Rainbow Dash yelled.
“No, no, no~. I’m just wondering how sad she would be to suddenly lose the gift of flight after she just got it. But, she can keep it, and you can all keep your gifts if you hand over one Element each. But there’s a caaaaatch. It MUST be taken from one of the other Element Barres. I won’t accept the Element of Loyalty from Dash, but I will accept it if Applejack gave it to me, allowing her to keep her precious gift and help her family. I mean, all that money could do wonders for her dear old aging Granny.” Discord said as he ran a finger down Applejack’s cheek. She tried to punch him but his face just opened a hole big enough for Applejack’s fist to pass through.
“An what if we refuse yer gifts?” Applejack asked angrily after Discord used Granny Smith’s health as a weapon against her.
“Oh, well you all go back to your ordinary lives. Fluttershy won’t be brave, Scotallo will lose her flying, Rainbow Dash will be kicked out of the Wonderbolts, all contracts will be null and void, and I’ll take away Pinke’s infinite recipe book. But for Twilight, well that’s special. Not only will she be kicked out of my Chaos library, but she’ll never see her precious Dani again.” Discord explained as he smiled maliciously and held up Dani’s thermos in his lion paw.
“YOU BASTARD!” I shouted as I launched a volley of spells at Discord which he turned into rubber duckies that mooed.
“Honestly Twilight, language. I’m starting to think Dani is a bad influence on you. Anywho, I’ll be back in a week for the elements if you decide to give them. Tata for now.” Discord said as he faded away into a dust cloud and flew out the window while laughing maniacally.

“Buck you too.” I told Nightmare Moon.
“Such foul language for a foal. Tell us, do you kiss your mother with that mouth?” She asked incredulously.
“Keeeeep talking. It’ll make it so much sweeter when I blast your flank later.”
“My my. I didn’t know you were into Mares like that. Kinky~.”
“Buck off.” I retorted.
“You know, I may be able to help you escape, but only if you help me.”
“Whatever it is, the answer is no. I’m not helping you of all ponies.”
“Even if it could give you the edge against Discord?”
“……. What do you mean?” I asked hesitantly.
“Well, I could offer you power beyond your imagination.”

“Oh really?” I asked with fake enthusiasm. “Woooow. That doesn’t sound ominous at alllll.” I then gave her a flat glance. “My answer is still the same.”
“At least give me a chance to explain the offer.”
“I’ll give you a chance. I just won’t listen.”
“………….. I want us to combine.” She finally said. I looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
“You’re kidding, right?”
“DISCOOORD!” Dani yelled angrily as she flew through the portal.
Her skin was dyed the color of the night sky, with a thousand stars flickering in the black fire that overtook her old fiery white mane.
“Oh, and what do you think you can do Dani? I’m the one holding all the cards here.” Discord said as decks of cards came flying at Dani from every direction. Dani turned intangible and let them pass through her.
“Oooh. Ghost powers. Doesn’t matter, what do you hope to do? Suck me into that thermos? Have the elements used against me? Maybe try and reform me?”
“Let me ask you something Discord. As a hero from a crappy movie once said, ‘Do you Bleed’?” She asked Discord.
“Well I—" Discord was cut off as a garage of green energy blasts came out of Dani’s palms.

“NO! I DIDN’T MICHAEL! Please believe me! I was looking everywhere I could. I asked your friends, I went on social media, I did everything I could!” I told him.
“Well it wasn’t enough! It’s your fault you know. You wanted those damned toys and convinced me to leave the house and get my books autographed. I’m dead, and it’s your FAULT! I’M DEAD BECAUSE OF YOU!”
