Because it would explain a lot. She may not be purely draconequus (her powers aren't as strong as Discord's). Let's say... the Pie family.. long... long ago had an ancestor who had a child with a draconequus. That blood carries on from generation to generation, even when was so long ago. You think it would explain some of the madness inside the Pie family?
Draconequus might not even been Discord. But some other guy. A lesser draconequus perhaps.
Basically, there's chaos magic in the Pie family's blood.
Pinkie Pie's magic is stronger than Discord's. To be honest, I don't even think you could call Pinkie's ability magical. I think Pinkie Pie is quite literally the Jesus of Equestria.

Pinkie's powers are definitely more random than Discord's.
I think Pinkie's abilities are a hybrid of Chaos AND Harmony magic, THAT is why it's so powerful.
Personally, I assume jotunn, but the principle is mostly the same. (Okey dokey Loki!)
My headcanon is that Pinkie Pie has the ability to use magic. All spells are magic, but not all magic is spells. She just uses a form of magic that's technically available to all ponies, but almost no one knows how to use it. It's powered by people believing you can do the things, and then you suddenly become able to do them, instead of something like mana.
Pinkie is a lot of things. She may be a liar, a pig, an idiot, a Communist... but she is NOT a porn star.

One fic I read at one point, had a character speculate that Pinkie Pie may have been the result of Discord dividing his being.
Honestly, it's not the most outlandish theory I've heard. It would make a lot of sense, if Pinkie Pie actually was actually created by Discord, whether by accident or otherwise.
It would also explain a lot of things all at once.
