AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, I'm talking to a pretty big author right now and I'm afraid of saying the wrong thing to them. My anxiety just goes through the roof because I'm afraid I'll say the wrong thing that offends others, or that I might do something wrong. I often second-guess my messages and it's very scary to think of future responses in the mail.
Does anyone have any tips on how to calm down?
I feel that
The person you’re taking to is a person as well, feeling the exact same thing you are. With that in mind, realize that offense can be very hard to give or take in the writing world, especially from a wrong word or two. My advice, like with everyone, is just treat everybody as you would anyone else.
I'm sorry about that. Lord knows I feel anxious when I reach out to someone about story ideas of my own. DX
Best advice I can give is to be polite and considerate, treat them as you yourself would want to be treated. If they're rude or offensive in return, then that's on them.

Oh, my god, I'm a hypocrite. I give the same advice.
Hugs.
As for calming down. Do something you like. Watch a funny lovie beforehand, call a friend or talk for a bit. Make sure you have your favourite tea in reach.
And the advice I give to everyone: Worrying about a problem does not help, it can only make it worse. So don't worry.
