Inspiration for Grogar's Backstory maybe? · 5:16pm Oct 5th, 2020
I came across this anime from 1978 called "Chirin's Bell" and I might take inspiration from it to give Grogar a backstory in a future episode of my Post-Season projects:

Might work. I also thought of having an MCU Thanos-like background for Grogar’s backstory, only it embittered him to the point of nihilism or something.
Whoa. Yeah. I can see where that could inspire you to do a possible backstory for Grogar.
I wouldn't give him a backstory that explains why he became evil, in my head he always was evil and is unredeemable. But a backstory that shows how he rose to Power and conquered equestria for the first time would be nice.

Yeah. I can respect that opinion. But even the Joker started out as a comparatively decent human being before he turned super-villain in SOME continuities.
Me, I have absolutely no problem with the author choosing to do Grogar's Start of Darkness AND explain his first rise to power. In other words, combining BOTH aspects of the backstory.
It would certainly explain why, out of all the Legion, he seems to get along with Sombra the best if their Starts of Darkness BOTH involved the deaths of loved ones.
Still, as I aforementioned, I can definitely respect your right to this opinion.
