Tonight's Fact comes from one of my personal favorite Horror Movies..
Scream!
Drew Barrymore was originally cast to play the main character Sidney Prescott, but ultimately stepped away from the role five weeks before production started.
Why give up such a part?
Well Drew thought of something clever.
She said that audiences would assume a well known actress like herself, would be expected to be the movie's Final Girl and survive. So she insisted on the part of Scream's second victim in the opening, to shock audiences and subvert expectations.

Up till now, I've seen nearly every 'Scream' movie. It's truly redefined the genre of slasher features with its self-awareness and such.

Lots of people hated the third movie for a variety of reasons. Heck the guy who does those 'Kill Count' videos doesn't hold back when he calls it one of the worst movies in the series. Then again, this was a pretty dark time for horror movies as we know.

Really? I did not know that either. Then again, I've never watched 'Tales from the Hood' so I have no idea what to say about the third feature coming up. But it should be rather interesting.
