    Rising Flames Progress Update

Just letting everybody know, it's going to be a bit longer before Chapter Three drops. In addition to refining our editing process to be more collaborative (I was letting my mindset from my game development work bleed into here, when my priorities with Rising Flames are very different), Spell Check and applezombi pointed out a bunch of issues with my outline that I've been diligently

My new company: Thought Prism Games!

I’ve got an exciting announcement today! Some of you might have been wondering what I’ve been up to outside the fanfic front, and now I’m ready to share at last. I am proud to announce and launch my new card game company: Though Prism Games! I have two fresh releases: Carddrop, a nifty little dexterity game to enjoy with regular playing cards, and Veebar, a fun two-player experience for all ages.

    Rising Flames Progress Update

I'm too tired to write good fiction or solve complex puzzles right now (Void Stranger is an amazing game btw, highly recommended for anyone who likes mindbenders), so I figured I'd give everybody an update on how the story was coming along. I'm almost halfway done with drafts for all the chapters. Chapter Four would have turned our very

A Momentous Milestone · 3:30pm Oct 2nd, 2020

This is my 100th blog post here on Fimfiction, and its contents are rather significant. Worth celebrating? I’d say so, but I wish it wasn’t a step I believed I needed to take to begin with.

America approaches a tipping point. And if we go over the edge, I fear our legacy will be one of regression and darkness perpetrated by extremists from the alt-right. A few months back, we had our own confrontation with the alt-right as a fandom. Despite the best efforts of people such as myself, Aquaman, Mr/Count Numbers, and Aragón, the eventual solution settled upon basically amounted to throwing a sheet over the problem and trying not to think about it anymore. This never sat well with me, nor would it be tenable for the country at large to replicate. I was tired of waiting for someone more altruistic and with more charisma to show up and fix things. I had to act, cast a wider net than before, if I wanted to prevent a future of rage and despair. Pull out all the stops.

Behold the result:

See that video there? I wrote about half of the script, and will be authoring more in the future. Some of you may recognize the channel as the same one behind the video I linked to in the description of Windigos, the story I wrote as a form of protest. I discovered Second Thought as a platform spreading leftist ideology, one with nearly a million subscribers. It’s humbling, suddenly reaching so many with my work, nearly four orders of magnitude more people. But, well, fate put the pieces into place. JT, the man who runs the channel, and who followed a similar path to this point as myself (he originally covered science topics, up until recently), put out a call for help accelerating video production in his community Discord server, which I had joined. Specifically, he wanted someone else to research and write scripts. And, being able to do those things well enough, I stepped forward.

Even if we can’t change many minds, we have to try. If you’d like to help, too, consider donating to the channel Patreon, or the Movement for a People’s Party. Alternatively, if you’re in the market for a more heavily moderated fanworks site that won’t tolerate bigotry, check out Figments’ in-progress Offprint site. I encourage you to do whatever you can to make a difference, even if that’s just pointing people at progressive media like Second Thought. Friendship can win, if we work together.

Great job on the video!

Very neat. Just by orders of magnitude, it's a much better medium for getting out the message.

Congrats! I’m a lazy fuck who doesn’t usually watch YouTube videos other than for music although my boyfriend does so I’ll tell him to check these out, but y’all should do a video on dual power. https://dsa-lsc.org/2018/12/31/dual-power-a-strategy-to-build-socialism-in-our-time/

Honestly, just having a third party worth taking seriously in addition to the current two would be a pretty major step forward. The forced cooperation caused by no on party having enough seats to do anything on its on is the entire point of democracy.

Congrats on 100 blogs! The video did give me a few things to think about regarding potential workplaces of the future. I am not one to approve of democracy in its purest form, but I can see a worker's co-op succeeding under the right designs. Clearly, such designs exist, as the video has given us examples of them.

My only issue is that I suspect there are things the video isn't telling us about these co-ops. I say that strictly because it offers nothing but flowery praise for the concept. There must be a downside, so what is it? And I don't mean "the greedy capitalist CEOs don't make money", I mean as a business, an employer, and a goods provider. There is no such thing as a perfect system, and I would like to know what the cons are.

I'm not saying that needs to be included in the video. It's a bit of a sales pitch, so transparency isn't a requirement. Nor am I saying these co-ops are bad; they might indeed be a great solution to the current reign of the Big Tech monopolies. I'm just trying to encourage people to take a closer look at things before deciding "this is the answer!"

That's a valid point. We probably could have noted the cons. From what I understand, the main difficulty with co-ops is actually getting people to agree to the setup in the first place. And then, after that, coming to a consensus on how to operate. There are almost always going to be people in the minority when voting, and hashing things out with a large group takes time. Just look at how slow congress operates, regardless of which party is in charge. With one man in charge, by contrast, changes in response to the market, or what have you, can be enacted almost instantly.

Good luck!

I already posted on another blog post about how your idea of fighting fascism is flawed and I want to point out you are only going to do so by tackling social imstability, its alienation it causes, and the festeting economic instability that is feeding into it.

Censoring it has not worked historically and its not working in Europe, hell the ones who have to do the censorship will likely end up being corporations who caused this shit in the first place indirectly mimd you but they caused this. They also have interests in doing so to you and they have alreafy done so seceral times because "f*ck you*.

If you think antifascism the way your told will eork it won't. Much of that is frim anarchists and they have a vested interest in disturbing the existing systems out of principle which creates fascists as a side effect.
