Nightmare Night chapter 32 launches this weekend. · 5:59pm Sep 25th, 2020
I should have it draft completed for review by AJA tonight. Most likely it will launch Saturday morning, but no later than Sunday morning. Looks like it'll come in a bit under 8000 words. No teaser, sorry, only because this is one of those chapters that I really don't want to to give anything away so readers get it full force. You already know who wins this, but as they say, the fun is getting there! And it's time to check back in with Starlight, to see how she's holding up under constant threat of conversion. Answer: about what you'd expect!
And going forward into October? Much more Nightmare Night ahead in the runup to Halloween. The chapter after this one will be Canterlot-and-Luna centric as our cursed thestralcorn friends overrun and convert the entire Canterlot Command Center and Luna then *ahem* arrives to deal with them. I don't plan for her to fall prey to the curse, but you'll certainly get a glimpse of her own former corruption and learn how debauched she was in the days of Nightmare Moon.
Following that will be Nightmarity/Flutterbat/Discord, and perhaps a bonus section regarding Spike and the CMC, only because there's a scene I really want to do there. From there, I will probably cut any other scenes short to admit Sunset Shimmer and start the climatic phase of the story in time for Halloween.
And somewhere in there will be a bonus Midnight Rising chapter involving the untold tale of Gilda, whose proclivities and possible fate that night I'll be hinting at in the new chapter.
I'm not surprised that Luna won't fall but I am curious to see if any of Twilight's old classmates will fall victim to the curse. I assume that the curse won't be contained to the command center and that the civilians will be affected as well.
