Early New Year's resolutions, and Old Year's conclusions

Well, another year's come and gone. How did the resolutions go? Half and half in my case. Managed to partially accomplish what I set out to do, moving from wondering how to do things to figuring out what to do. I believe I've successfully identified the habits that are hampering or even harmful to me, so that's progress.

    Resolutions for the new year?

Summer update 2: What's Sticking to the Wall?

    Quick update on future plans.

Still working on the original stuff, I think I'm down to the last rewrite of what I wanted to do, only question is what to change in terms of details. Art's had some progress, but work responsibilities and sweet, sweet sleeping problems have caused disruptions.

    Summer update: what next?

Honestly? Not sure. I never publish anything that's not complete, so I'm not breaking any promises there. Thing is, I haven't started on anything new yet, and hadn't lined anything up before the previous one.

Bastion Update: September. · 7:49pm Sep 15th, 2020

Some quick updates:

Bastion trilogy part 1 is finished. Latest version I've got, I'm happy with.

Part 2: delayed. I intend to get some practice in writing something Dungeons and Dragons-style of setting. Why do I need that? Well, it turned out to be needed for this story. Sorely needed. Which leads me to:

Contest story: re-thought.

I intend to participate in FanofMostEverything's contest. I've already caught some issues in the concept stage and cut down on my plans for it, to keep it under the 15k limit. Why join in? For the practice, sure, but I'd be lying if I said that was the only reason. I've had some success with contests in the past, but the last two I partook in had me writing a site first in one before the contest itself was aborted and the creator vanished from the fandom, while in the second I had to withdraw after submitting my entry when that whole awful mess with my family happened.

The hard truth is: I haven't had an honest hit in two or three years, after dabbling into the R-rated stuff.

I want to know if that's because of a drop in quality, or just people turning on the stuff I write. I mean, I've always been honest about what I was. I'm quiet about it now, though, it shouldn't bother anyone, but y'all knew what you were getting, I should hope.

I guess I just want to know if I haven't lost my touch, at least before I cash in my chips.

Once that story's done, back to Bastion part 2. In case I hadn't mentioned it before: it involves our little changeling going to a camp. A very particular camp that happens to have a lot of Pegasi. No points for guessing which camp that is. Spoiler alert, though: he gets to meet God. Kinda. Regular readers of mine will know what time it is.

On a side note, I've mentioned this in group posts and in some blog notes of other people, but it bears announcing officially if I've forgotten to or if you've forgotten I mentioned it: I'll be turning off comments on everything I publish from now on. There's no reason not to, and every reason to do so. This will start from the very next story I publish, which'll be the contest entry, and continue until such a time I stop writing ponyfic or if I find sufficient reason to turn it back on again. It will not affect the comment sections of older stories, though.

As always: stay hydrated, stay safe, download stuff you like lest it be lost forever.

Song unrelated, but will get the feelgoods stuck in your head, so there.

Cracker out.
