Tenet-Review (Spoilers) · 10:20pm Sep 4th, 2020
I thought Tenet was good! The was was written, produced, and directed by Christopher Nolan(The Dark Knight Trilogy; Inception; Dunkirk). The film features great direction, great acting, special and visual effects, great editing, great cinematography, and great music. The film is very difficult to follow though. The film stars John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Michael Caine, and Kenneth Branagh.
The film follows a protagonist (Washington) who’s been recruited into a program known as “Tenet“, a secret organization in which people can travel backwards in time to prevent global catastrophes from happening. He’s been tasked to stop a former Soviet man (Branagh) who has the ability to look into the future. The protagonist must stop the man from bringing the world to an end. The protagonist is aided by a handler (Pattinson) and the must seek the help of the man’s estranged wife (Debicki) in saving the world.
The film deals with themes such as time, the past, present, and future; saving lives, trust, friendship, making a difference. This may not be Nolan’s best film, but it’s still a good film.
Story wise, it’s 3 out of 4 stars. For a entertaining film, 3.5 stars out of 4 stars.
