Weekly Updates: Twilight's Bizarre Adventure - Chapter 7 · 7:54am Aug 31st, 2020

This is the end of the first arc. Sorry for the delays.

Twilight's Bizarre Adventure: Midnight Light

Twilight couldn’t see the world around her.

No, that wasn’t it.

She could see the world around her, but it barely registered for her. All there was in her vision was a red blur...

And the blood of her brother in a mare’s hooves.

The Lieutenant was frozen in fear, trotting backwards to get away from this mare... this monster in front of her.

“Shoot her!” She screamed, hitting one of the guards on the side with her hoof. “Shoot! Her!” The guards and their lieutenant fired together, even using her magic to boost the barrage of bullets.

The rounds just stopped in midair, a few centimeters in front of the mare on fire. Like before, the metal melted and dissipated. The fire began to spread around Twilight as she started to trot towards them. They fled down the hallway, but they clashed against a wall of pink magic before reaching the stairs.

“Murderers.” Twilight’s voice called for the guard ponies. She left flaming hoof steps as she slowly advanced down the hallways and towards them.

The Lieutenant fired a magic bolt at the barrier, but to no avail. One of her guards used the backside of his musket to crack one of the hallway’s display window, smashing it on the second try. Only for the same pink magic replaced the window, resisting any further hit from the stallion. With the fire taking over and no exit, the hallway turned into an inferno for the betrayers.

And Twilight a devil to seek they were to receive their just punishment.

But something stopped her.

Twilight looked down, at where something was tugging on her rear leg. It was the faint mist of a unicorn’s magic. She recognized the color of her brother’s magic. The same of his eyes.

“Don’t...” She saw him holding onto the wall behind her, still sporting the knife buried in his chest, barely standing over a pool of his own blood.

“Shining!” She ran towards her brother.

“Twi--*coff* Twilight...” he coughed.

“Shining, I’m right here!” She called, holding him in her magic. Even though the fire kept dancing around them, it didn’t touch either of the Sparkle siblings as Twilight held Shining in a hug.

“It will be alright,” she whispered. “You will be alright.” Her breathing became erratic as the flames over her body started to become smaller and her fur regained its purple color. “Please, Shining, hold on!” Twilight pleaded.

“Don’t *Coff!* be like them...” He trembled in her hooves, coughing out blood on her fur. “Be...” Shining Armor fought the battle of his life, just to say his last words.

“No, Shining!”

He closed his eyes and lightened his horn. Twilight felt the push of her brother’s magic forcing her away from him. She fought against it, but couldn’t. The magical shield kept moving her.

Shining Armor stood tall and opened his eyes. He looked back at Twilight as she was forced out of one of the hallway’s picture window.

“Be one of the good ones,” he whispered, just enough for her to hear him. “Because the world always need more good ponies.”He smiled at Twilight as she was finally out of the house. She fell off the window, but a pair of hooves caught her before she could hit the floor.

“Twilight, we have to go!” Trixie pulled Twilight away from the now burning house, but she refused.

“No!” She tried to get closer, but Shining’s magical shield engulfed the house now, preventing Twilight from entering again. “NO!”

She tried to teleport in, but to no avail. Her magic was exhausted, and the shield spell was too strong. She began to hit the barrier with her hooves, but to no avail. There was nothing she could do. Time felt like it had come to a stop. The sounds, the colors, the feelings. Everything went numb as Twilight saw in horror how the flames consumed everything inside the magical dome. Everything else became a blur for Twilight as Trixie and Pinkamena pulled her away.

The last thing she would ever remember from that night was watching in the distance as the dome finally dissipated, leaving only the burned ruins of her house, and marking the moment her brother, her family, was dead.

I'll give the concept some time to rest. Get into editing what I have and publish it as an actual story in the meantime. See you on the other side.
