Promises, Promises, Promises... · 1:30am Aug 30th, 2020
Well...i guess the only defence i can offer is that i am a fucking liar. not only to you guys but also with myself. i make a promise but it seems i can't deliver on it...
but there is a reason for that. beyond my writer's blocks, beyond collage work and beyond life here at home, what really pushes me back from working on this story is my own inexperience. i am on the midsts of becoming a writer i can be proud of becoming. that means that when i look back on to my works with a brand new perspective, i can't help but wonder where it all went wrong. that is the case with this story.
now don't get me wrong. i have said it before and i will say it again: i have no intention of ever, EVER, abandoning this story when already so many people have taken a liking to it.
i know what it is like to follow a story you love to the end, only for that narrative to end permanently with no explanation as to why. it can be genuinely heartbreaking, and i don't want to do that to you guys. but i also can't keep moving forward in this story without making a lot of changes. i look at these chapters and i can't help but cringe. this is not the kind of story i want to share with you guys. i have a vision i want to realize. one that is inspired by the world of Percy Jackson.
but i can't be like Rick, or anybody else, when i write these chapters.
i have to be the writer only i can be, and i can see that in my efforts of emulating the wonderful world of Riordan and MLP in my , i end up creating a horrible chimera that has none of the appeal either works have been known for. i have to pick a lane as i write this story, and the truth is that beyond the fandom appeal and the desire to see my favorite concepts in fiction to interact, beyond all of that i want to tell a GOOD story. not a mediocre one or so-so one, A GOOD ONE.
so things will have to change. i want you guys to be satisfied but above all else i want to have fun writing this while also being satisfied myself.
so, as of today i will be tweaking and editing the chapters to better fit the vision i had from the beginning. i can see how this can upset some people who have already been patiently waiting for a new chapter, but i just simply won't be comfortable moving forward as things stand now with this story.
you guys deserve better and so do i.
on a side note, another reason this story has been left untouched is because i have other fics to work through, just not on FIMfiction. i have a fanfiction and an AO3 account as well, with stories there also waiting to be updated...i have a problem.
my main obsession as of now is my Spider Man and Hazbin Hotel crossover called "Webbed up Hell". not to jerk myself too hard but i have to say that it might be my magnum opus. so if either of those fandoms is your favorite, do check it out.
anyway, if you guys don't see me as often here it is because i am probably working on that story as well.
just so you know.
anyway, i think i have blabbed on for too long now. you guys know now what i will be doing with this story and the reasons of why i won't be as active as i want.
hopefully the next update i give you guys is about a new chapter and not a new excuse, but i won't be holding my breath.
as of today, the only chapter that has been updated is chapter one, so go see it now to see what kind of changes you can expect from now on.
