I saw a quote today and from it, found inspiration!
You must be ready to burn yourself in your own flame. How could you rise anew if you have not first become ashes?
Richard (and marginally Chrissy) are so trapped by their own anger and hatred towards Celestia and her ilk that they fail to act in a way that one could consider smart. In the dome, they had the opportunity to ask an abundance of questions and be given nothing but truth, but their anger blinded them and the questions left unasked.
For as long as they remain trapped by their own emotions, they will never truly rise to become something greater.
Now I'm excited! I have a direction in mind for how this story goes, and I've known from when I came back to it how it would end.
Brace yourselves!
Curious and Curiouser who will burn first and rise a new Chrysalis and Richard from their hate and vengance or Celestia from her twisted obsession for him ohh I can't wait I'm so excited for the next chapter!
This reminds me of something from the book Poseidon's son (by Rick Riordan) where one of the main characters life force is tied to a piece of wood and he has to burn this to free someone
