I'm not quite sure what has inspired me to write a blog post. Perhaps it's the change of scenery. Perhaps it's the emotions running off from recently, and finally, reading a new good story. Loyal knew how to craft a story, rest his soul.
I've been mostly away from the site for a... I'm not even sure. Two years? Three? Just occasionally chipping away on parts of chapters of some of the stories in my library. Not having the time or inclination to really, truly, read.
I haven't seen the last three seasons of the show, but then while I came for the show, I stayed for the fandom. These past years however, there has just been less. Not enough time. I never actually lost my interest in ponies, but like all things in life it waxes and wanes, and it seems the mood is indeed waxing at the time of writing.
Now I find myself in a new land (literally), and a new place (metaphorically). I feel relaxed, a bit more at ease, a bit less tense. It's freeing, and being able to dedicate time and mental resources to just getting lost in the many beautiful worlds the fandom has to offer is liberating beyond words.
I'm not sure if there is anything else to say. Or if this was worth saying. Perhaps I will try my hand at writing something, after so many years of being but a consumer? Perhaps not. Perhaps this will be the only blog post I ever make and it will never be read by anyone other than the machine that parses it.
Oh well. At least that's something.
Keep writing blogs at the very least. They're easy and fun and rewarding in more ways than one initially realizes. Give story writing a try though.

As someone who has also not seen the show since the start of Season 5 and has only just started to blast through his "Read Later" list I have to ask why did you come back?

No single thing really. As I touched on in my post it was more that my situation allowed me more time to read, as well as being less stressed so I actually wanted to read. Then once I started again I just kept going.

Well I'll continue blasting through my read later list for as long as the stories are of high quality or have something unique about them. I have yet to watch the G5 movie as I've heard conflicting statements in regards to its quality and will only watch it when I run out of material to read here on FimFiction.
Though I certainly will be following what you post in your library as there appear to be a lot of stories that interest me
