Chapter 23, Fanart, and Time Management · 12:33am Aug 24th, 2020
Hello, airponies! Goldenwing here just checking in to let you know what's up with me and assure you that I haven't forgotten about you. Chapter 23 is halfway done, though admittedly most of that half was written at the start of this month. I really want to get it out before the end of the month if nothing else, cause if not that'll mean I went all month without an update and, thusly, my patrons paid me for nothing. That'd be quite bad.
So what's taking me so long? I suppose I'm a bit overstretched. Normally I put my creative pursuits first, at the expense of my income and other obligations, but recently I've been trying to be more responsible, as it were, focusing on making enough money every week before indulging in writing. Combine that with a burst of commissions (which I've also been letting slide, frankly), and it's hard to find time to write more SH. But hey, there's another week in this month, and I'm already halfway there. I think I can do it.
In good news, I've got some more fanart this month! Let's go through it together, eh? First up is my dedicated Russian reader, Driver, who's been working on some original cover art for act three. Here's his latest rendition, which he insists he's not yet satisfied with! And yes, that is the Argo with a gun instead of a submarine.
And a more anatomical drawing from him as well, with how he imagines the interior looks.
Note that these are all just interpretations! I'm reluctant to declare anyone's drawing of the ship to be "canon" no matter how well done it is. I think there's plenty of ways you can imagine it, and they're all valid!
Next up we have the elegant Manifest Harmony, who's been rather taken by Rarity's side of the story. She keeps pestering me to turn Rarity into her own political unit with her own advisors and initiative. All in due time! Here we have Mani's idea of what that future Rarity might look like, with her two close advisors, Captain Piaffe and Anatami. I'd rate Piaffe as my favorite in this trio.
And another one, this time of Rainbow Dash and Gava working out their personal issues.
Mani has also contributed her own vision for the Argo, albeit in a much more fantastical style!
