TEK Hiatus End + info · 8:51pm Aug 21st, 2020
Hi everyone!
Gonna keep it brief because I don’t have a lot to say except for the fact that the TEK hiatus will be over Sept. 5th.
I am estimating that by then a lot of my current life goings (work, moving to an new apt, etc) should be finished so I’ll be good to be back on track by then! I’ve also done a lot of self-care and resting so I’m more energized.
I should also probably address my January??? blogpost where I very dramatically declared TEK would be cancelled if it wasn’t finished by 2021. As a general reminder, that statement isn’t because I’m sick of TEK, but because the more time I spend on fandom stuff, the less time I’m spending on my actual career (plus work is killing me, and I am not bold enough to quit my job and try and make it as a freelance writer).
So while if I went through with the plan, I wouldn’t hold it against me, I’ve still decided to not do that because that blogpost was written under the assumption 2020 would not be plagued by a pandemic that would uproot the entire world. Does this mean I’m moving the deadline to 2022? I don’t know anymore, y’all. I could, but God knows what’s happening next year. Maybe the pandemic will still be a thing. Maybe something else will happen. Maybe I’ll be forced to confront the grim reality that I don’t want TEK to end because it ending means I have to face my demons and try and make it as a non fandom writer.
Who knows!
Anyway, at this point I’m just going to try and be done as soon as possible. I’m excited for the next chapter because it’s the epilogue of the Luna arc, so it will be exclusively cute and adorable and fluffy, and it’ll also come with an interlude that will focus on Cadance and Celestia finding out the news. Then after that we start Act 3!
Act 3 will be a nice change of pace because it will finally and exclusively be RariTwi Go On Adventures (with some chill chapters in the library). These poor horsies have gone through hell and back, and now they deserve to go on adventures while having a nice and fulfilling relationship filled with love and communication. This is the reward I’m giving myself (and all of you??) for surpassing TEK: The Mental Health Arcs. Now we all get to chill while Rarity and Twilight flirt while beating up dragons or whatever or rescuing Celestia, I guess.
It will also have my most risky endeavor yet which is I’m doing Rarity POV and Twi POV. It even has a meta-reason why. It’ll be cool! I’m so excited about it, lmao. I love Twi, but Rarity is my jam. Oh, there’s also my last GREAT plot reveal, which will turn the entirety of TEL on its head, and I’m only 99% nervous about that.
And then eventually Act 3 will be done (and it won’t take me three years this time, please, god) and then we’ll go into the final act of the series! And then we will all cry together.
I’m also going to earnestly try to update at least once a month. At least. I’m thinking probably the 15th of every month? The 6th anniversary of the oneshot is coming up next month (sixth!!!! sixth!!!!) and I might do something special for that. Maybe try and kick off Act 3.
Hm.
Anyway that was it! Also hahaha I like how I said I’d keep it brief, and then I didn’t. Just like how I said that the final arc of Act 2 would be two chapters and then it took me six goddamn chapters, why am I like this. But they were good chapters so it’s ok.
Anyway yes!!

It seems a common thing, that stuff turns out longer than we'd suspect!
Brandon Sanderson's first draft of his next Stormlight book was somewhere between 250-300 pages. And, as usual, he made a few more drafts and then suddenly it was nearing the 1000 pages
Looking forward to it! Changing POVs will be interesting. Gotten so used to Twilight, but Rarity's good too. We've gotten over the huge hump of the fights they had so far so...should be fun

Yess so excited for the new chapter!! I’ve been reading since December 2016 back (when I was literally 16 hehe) but I stopped for a while and now I’m back!! Love this fix and can’t wait for more
