    A Good Pace

    It's time...

I made a promise that I'd keep up a good pace now that my life is in a better place. And now I have the second to last chapter.

We're nearing on the home stretch.

Sat down today, the day after I published the latest chapter and wrote the first 2,000 words of the next chapter.

Getting Ready — My Little Serial Killer

It's been a long while since I've looked at My Littler Serial Killer with a close eye and saw a LOT that could be edited and improved.

So, I went through every chapter of My Little Serial Killer these past two days and did a complete overhaul.

I'm about two-thirds of the way done with the new chapter of My Little Serial Killer. That should be posted by the end of this coming week.

A Bit of My Life's Story These Past Two Years

So, I became a reporter for a local paper and thought things would change and I'd have a nice, easy life.

What I didn't expect was to be the only reporter for that local paper. A normal week would see me writing at least six full-length stories. I'd also help put the paper together for publication. I was basically an assistant to the editor in all but name. And pay.

So, I Thought I'd Get More Time

Do you know when the busiest time to be a journalist is? September, right up until Christmas. You have local elections you need to keep up on, in addition to what you're normally doing, then Thanksgiving rolls around and like, 8 different entities do something related to that and then Christmas is the same story.

A Bit of My Life's Story These Past Two Years · 9:02pm Aug 17th, 2020

So, I became a reporter for a local paper and thought things would change and I'd have a nice, easy life.

What I didn't expect was to be the only reporter for that local paper. A normal week would see me writing at least six full-length stories. I'd also help put the paper together for publication. I was basically an assistant to the editor in all but name. And pay.

A job like that can grind on you. When you wake up every morning, only to churn out article after article, you lose a bit of the spark when it comes to creative writing. And when you ask for a pay raise and corporate looks at you like you're growing a third eye, you start to get bitter.

I honestly lost all spark for creative writing while working as a reporter for that paper.

Past tense.

Last November, I got a new job as a reporter for another newspaper. A much better newspaper where I'm not the only reporter. They love my work, I'm getting paid more, I'm appreciated, and I have more time to myself. And during this pandemic, I've actually managed to pay off a student loan and 3/4 of my car loan.

I got a private message recently asking if I was going to continue My Little Serial Killer. And the answer is yes.

I just sat down today and got maybe 1/3 of what I've wanted in the chapter in a single night and I feel good.

I'm hoping to have a new chapter by the end of the month.

Cheers.

I’m in red happy to hear (more like read haha) that things are turning up much better for you and you know what, you deserve it!!! I’m also glad to have seen that My Little Serial Killer is indeed receiving some much anticipated love (I even left a lovely comment on the latest chapter! [even if that chapter is more than 3 and 1/2 years old now]) its so good seeing just how good things have come up for you and as mentioned before hand, you do deserve it!

Nice to see you around, and I'm very happy to hear you're doing well!
