okay so here's a thing: in virtually ALL HiE fanfic's that i read that has Twilight question a human about, Earth, it's cultures, its technology, and many other things that Twilight wants to question the human. lately, whenever i see this in any fic i find my myself thinking: "Why do you need to know this Twilight?"
and this leads me to thinking Twilight is never going to to to Earth, so why does she need to know what Earth is like. and for the human race, why does she need to know about it, it's not like she's going to go to our world, and interact with other humans, or that their will ever be another human that comes to Equestria that she could interact with more easily. sure, i suppose she could use whatever she learns from the human to better Equestria, somehow. but what happens if the humans just tells her bullshit just to fuck with her, or isn't well educated? what then? same thing goes for trends, or whatever cultural phenomenons, i doubt ponies would even comprehend what humans find entertaining, or intriguing. hell, people love to read stories that are about butchering kids in the fucking Hunger Games for entertainment, no way a pony would find death as a fascinating subject as humans do.
also, human culture is radically dynamic, varied and different that i doubt ponies would even understand or even want to adopt any of them. and for technology, not only ponies not have the means to replicate 80% or 85% of modern day human technology, that its completely pointless. also more than half of what we humans make is meant to kill things wither its animals, the environment, or fucking each other. so why do ponies need to know this shit?
so again.......why does Twilight question a human about the human race or Earth.......what, possible benefit will she get from it. and if she does find something, it's not like she can have a proper discussion about what she knows because only she would know about it. even if she publishes her findings in a book or something, there is no guarantee that ponies will take it seriously.
Ehhh. It's just her egghead nature.

even if its her egghead nature, how is she going to handle say......a psychopath that's playing her, and is telling her all kinds of crazy bullshit that just makes humans seem more monstrous than we can already be? cause, not every human that Twilight would run into in any fic is going to be a stable minded average guy or gal.

Why do 90% of HiE fics have the average dude or chic, why not have a psychopath, a serial killer, so rich asshole or even an entitled selfish prick????? seriously, these type of people would make for great stories. i know that people want to mostly use more friendly types of people, but come on, its not every human that MAGICALLY get's sent to Equestria is going to be a good person.

I genuinely wonder how the Mane 6 deal with someone whose aim it is to bully them for the fun of it. Would they just stone me? Perhaps, but I'd warn them ahead of time that doing so would make them look like the bad guys, since they're using violence against a non-violent threat.
Maybe they'd just lock me up somewhere in the castle and I "disappear."

or a human that actually enjoys being alone because in his/her life, she was just bogged down by a large family that live in one house, or just lived in an area that has to much background noise, or to much social interaction that he/she just can't stand anymore.

can you really see Rarity, Fluttershy, Pinkie or Twilight resort to any for of violence? Rainbow i can totally see because she's a fucking hot head. also, the ponies are not exactly the smartest of people....75% of the time, so you could fool them into thinking that's how humans show their love and affection, so you could get your kicks, without the ponies getting mad. because they feel for a dumb lie.
I’ve always been a believer that the ponies could even imagine what higher levels of violence are like, I mean, we saw the yaks and the appleosians, fight with pies. So I always wondered what would happen if a human entered there world, and let’s say they encountered king sombra. King sombra couldn’t’t even get close to showing the human his worst nightmare because he can’t comprehend what scares him, but the human could scare him. The human would speak of horrible thing, from disemboulement to gouging of the eyes.
Aside from her insatiable need to study and report, there's the simple explanation that the goal is just purely academic.

that's why most, or ALL of my fics are about the ponies from the show, instead of altering the economy or mentality of the ponies to being equal to that of humans. the fact that the pony race is so laid back, innocent and pretty much peaceful and docile, make them excellent victims, witness or just bystanders to what a human that has creative thinking for the macabre aspects of life just blows their minds.
Plug: in this fic of mine called the Six Heros, in the 5th, 8th and 11th Chapter, they see just how brutal humans can be, among a few other aspects.

true. but even when that academic person has study whatever they were researching, all that information is now in their head. what happens when Twilight learns that humans had wars that killed millions of people across our time periods with all sorts of destructive and disturbing manners. all that info is now stuck in her head, how can she cope with that as ponies are genuinely a docile peaceful race, who have no frame of reference to the level of human brutality and our penchant for murder or other extremes.

even if Twilight wanted to learn of Earth and Humans for simply 'the enjoyment of learning', she's going to learn all of the horrible things we do to each other, animals, and the world. she might regret learning that part of us, especially if the human she's questioning hates his/her own people.

There is a story I found around, where well, Twily find the Godwin point if you see what I means. The human familly's husband teacher have a link to this dark era - german jewish folk I think -and he have a talk with Twily, on how we can be so... different at times.
