What's your favorite pic from the fandom?
I really miss the old days of the fandom. Everyone got along, there were a bazillion people on fimfiction making stories, a bazillion other people making beautiful art, and a bazillion others making incredible music (that I still listen to). For our beloved show to be replaced by this shit show called Pony Life is a spit in our collective faces. Friendship is Magic was a great show that brought together an insane amount of people and gave them a common interest and common goals; we accomplished quite a lot while FIM was in its peak.
Conventions were fun. The community was great. The friends I made will last a long time; the stories I wrote, even longer. While my interest and passion of ponies has gone down from a raging inferno to a little flame, I will forever cherish the times I shared on this website and within the community. Of this I have no shame. I do not regret what I did within the pony community (because ponies are fucking adorable as fuck and anyone who says they aren't adorable as fuck don't deserve your time anyways because their opinion is worthless. Also Nightshine is best pony <3).
I still intend to finish writing I'll Do Anything for You and My Filly, Nightshine one of these days, and eventually turn them into books for your reading pleasure, so... I'm gonna see what I can do to finish these chapters; both stories have chapters half finished. It's been like this for over a year or two, so... here, have the best GIF of ponies snuggling!
It is nice to hear from a veteran how things were at the peak of the fandom, this coming from one who came in too late and perhaps didn't incorporate into the community all that much.
This said, it is good to hear that you are in good spirits and motivated--and as a loyal reader, I'll be waiting for what you write and share with us. :)

I joined right in the middle between seasons 2 and 3; that's when the show was at its peak. It's crazy to think how into the show I was back then.

Geez. I never even got to watch the show, seeing how I only first learned of its existence well after Season 4. Even then I ignored it for a long time (darn it 13-year-old me). Not that I would have been able to watch the show anyway; it didn't even air properly in Korea. But still, I can try to make the best of my time here even though I joined just before Season 9, right? There are still people here, albeit much less compared to the heydays of the site.

Oh that's a tall, tall order, because I loved so many. I got into the show right at the end of season 1, and it was just non-stop art, music (mostly clips of the show made into dubstep, but still great!), and then the stories started flowing, and so many imaginations began to expand the world of our ponies.

I joined right after season 4 and during the 2nd mlp movie rainbow rocks, ironically what made me join was a fan video from a youtuber by the name of ToucanLDM, the first vid i saw from him was Godzilla vs my little pony
I never talk much on here. More of a lurcher now that I don't do editing anymore. I remember when it first came out and by season two every other fandom was putting in their favorite characters from the birth of doctor whooves to Naruto ninja ponies. The fandom has cooled down in some ways. With all the good was a lot of bad as well. Hate speech was rampant and mistreatment based on who your favorite Main6 character was part for being here. Now I see much less of that. It isn't gone but with the wanna be shit lords gone and the banwagoners having jumped off for the next biggest hype, it is kinda a new age for the pony community. I personally am looking forward to lurching around and seeing what comes of it. If you didn't get a chance to be apart of the start then start creating take what the ppl in the past did and do it yourself. Living tombstone got his big start out of the fandoms birth. You can still do that. Go into music or art or writing and never fear to also dive into a different fandom. You never know which inspiration will be the next one to rocket you into the spotlight.
With me it's also waned significantly but it's still there.
I guess we'll never know how the Gala went for Jason, Nightshine, and Lily...
Yea you right its crazy i watched this show from 2010 Season 1 episode 7 till its end.
I was 15 im now 26 ponies will always be a part of my life. And the art and Music is glorius Stay pony my dude.
I personally don't dislike Pony Life, and will probably make an effort to keep up with episodes (kinda), it does have its moments afterall that I do think is nice, but I agree it hardly holds a candle to Friendship is Magic. Here's hoping G5 does better (if you count Pony Life being G4.5 anyway).
I agree, it was an interesting time back then. Really felt like a kind of Golden Age if you will. I like to think there are still areas of the fandom I can still find a taste of those years, but it certainly has quieted down since then. Honestly it's hard to pick just one image, especially for me since I've been around since "Pinkie Keen" in Season 1, and have amassed 200+ images onto a thumb drive (I save pics I like), probably even way more than that; but, I suppose this is something that did catch my eye from those years ago.

I joined the fandom in 2014 and joined the site in 2015 after I came across a fanfic reading on YouTube called an affliction of the heart.
Been a fan since the beginning but always a lurker since I have little skill at creating. Been voraciously reading fimfic at work during breaks for years now. And when cons roll around, I almost always have something pony to give away-- fast food toys (still have ~400 to go), blind bags, a pile of FloorCon convention badges of ponies, even Twilight for President bumper stickers in 2016 (I'll have to make new ones for the next election)...
(Liked this one so much, because it speaks to me [metaphorically], I eventually got a 36 x 48 inch poster of it for my room)

If this site ever went down. Years and years from now. As long as I can finish I’ll do anything for you /my filly Nightshine before then I could say goodbye to the fandom. Those two are the last stories that I can not wait for. Thank you for sticking around.

I only became a full on brony about 3 months ago and it’s sad to know that I missed the golden age of the fandom,
My impression is that G4.5 is aimed at a different audience. Original bronies not included.
I loved the fandom from 2012-2015. That's what I'd call the golden years. And although I never went to a con, I know everything else was amazing.
