Another round of updates. · 6:54am Jul 15th, 2020
We’re nearing mid month soon and I’m trying out something different with how I go about writing and releasing updates. Previously I would just work on whatever I wanted to work on and that led to me just ignoring some projects in favor of working on others, and I was really starting to feel like I wasn’t giving some of my stories the love they deserved. My new plan going forward is that each day is devoted to one of three stories. So for instance, Monday and Thursday is when I work on New Horizons, Tuesday and Friday is when I work on Stardust, and Wednesday and Saturday is when I work on Dreamers. Sunday’s either going to be a “free day” or a rest day, whichever I feel like using it as.
I’ve been struggling to get engagement with some of my stories, especially Dreamers, and it’s made me realize how much I’ve been obsessing over that story in particular. Dreamers is a full rewrite of my first two stories and I’d be lying if I said that seeing it underperform gets to me more than it should. It has a special place in my heart, and I’m really working hard on trying to write the story I originally wanted to write.
The reason this is relevant is because I was definitely ignoring my two other stories, and instead I kept trying so hard to have that one be a success, and I think limiting how often I work on it will ultimately be for the best.
