Hey, everyone. Here is my review of Avengers: Endgame. This film was nothing more than a satisfying conclusion of the Avengers series. I actually cried at the end of this epic film. It’s one thing to make a great series, but it’s another thing to make an amazing conclusion of the franchise. When it comes to the final films of a series or franchise, you have to make it satisfying, memorable, and something that the fans would enjoy and even make it so that it makes connections with the previous films, respects the characters, establishes character development, writes the heroes and the villains well, and overall makes it very good. This film did all of the above which makes it awesome. Trust me, once you watch this film, it will take you on an emotional ride especially once you consider everything that happened in Infinity War. So, let’s talk about it:

The characters: Our protagonists were actually written well. At the very beginning of the movie, you see each of them coping with the loss of their friends and some of their loved ones. For example, Tony Stark is trying to spend the rest of his life with his wife and little daughter. You also see Thor in his state of inherent sadness; seeing how all hope was lost and that Thanos had won, he beheaded him out of sheer rage (at least he went for the head that time like Thanos said) and sulked in his failure. Keep in mind that our heroes coped with their lives for five years straight. So during five years, they had to meditate and think of what they could’ve done to stop the Mad Titan from killing 50% of the universe’s population. Every day, they had to think, “Why didn’t I do this? I could’ve done this! I could’ve done that!” They had to blame themselves for their own failure of stopping Thanos. Thus, they lived the rest of their lives almost miserably. However, even during their misery, Captain America, Black Widow, and eventually Iron Man still had hope. Thus, they and the rest of the team had to reunite together to reverse the effects of the snap and bring the universe back together. That teaches the audience to never give up even when all hope appears to be lost. When you feel like giving up and just throw your hands in despair, there’s always a path that leads you to victory. Keep moving forward and fight for the good. The writing of this film is fantastic.

2). The story: It was so moving and touching. The movie shows us a journey through time travel. One example would be how our heroes get to see their loved ones who had died years ago face to face. Like with Tony for instance. The moment he laid his sight on his father, you can actually see him get emotional and almost to the point of breaking his facade in that facility. You can tell that when he hugged his father and said, “Thanks for... everything.” Very moving for our main character. The same thing for Steve Rogers when he had his moments. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention Bruce Banner/Hulk (literally) and to see him acting so intelligent in his Hulk form. I mean... wow! Every time he appeared on screen and spoke his lines, I kept thinking about Grimlock when he had moments where he spoke intelligently. Sorry, that’s just my Transformers nerd side of me. Anyway, this story actually made me feel sympathetic for the characters. However, the same cannot be said a particular fan-favorite...

3). The villain: Thanos (or at least his past self) gets less screen time and doesn’t have any follow-up development from his victory in Infinity War. When he discovers his victory he had done in the future, he had little reaction and emotion. Like, you see you have finally accomplished your goal and have, in your perspective, set balance in the whole universe. But, you don’t seem too joyous and satisfied with that. I expected much more than that. Another thing was that he was portrayed as a sadistic villain instead of an empathic conquerer from the last movie. I just don’t like the change of tone in villains. Please keep them the way they were before, writers. Thank you.

4). The humor: It was well-timed and very funny. There were moments where I laughed so hard such as Thor behaving very silly, and the moments he had with Rocket. I love their dynamic relationship. I’m glad the film isn’t a melancholic and over-sensitive story. It has jokes that can lighten the mood of the audience and not make them feel depressed. Spot on, writers!

5). The Soundtrack: It was epic, well-composed, and amazing. Especially during the final battle. Speaking of which,

6). The Climax: Seeing all these characters joining together to fight Thanos together was... the most CINEMATIC MOMENT IN MOVIE HISTORY!! Also, we actually get to see each character fight against an enemy or opponent in the battle. It doesn’t waste time on flashbacks or exposition dumps that takes the focus away from the climatic fight. That is what made the final battle so epic, amazing, and wonderful to watch. I actually rooted and cheered for our heroes to win.

7). Iron Man’s Sacrifice: If there was one thing that made me cry the most, it was the death of Iron Man. Seeing him snap his fingers with the Infinity Stones to wipe out Thanos and his remaining army was so satisfying. He saved the entire world and universe from Thanos’s wrath. I cried when I saw his face of death touching him and his wife and Peter Parker holding to him as they also cried. Man, it was the most emotional and heartbreaking moment in the entire series. He is one of my favorite superheroes of all time, so his death really hit me hard. However, I don’t understand how he died from his own snap yet when Hulk snapped his fingers with the Infinity Stones, he was fine with only a burned arm. That was... weird.

8). The Ending: Wow, what an epic way to conclude the series and give a perfect send off of the Avengers. Seeing Black Widow not be a part of the ending was very sad too considering her death. (Sigh) I wish many films would have this same tone to conclude any series they might have.

This series was amazing in so many ways. With the exception of Age of Ultron, I really enjoyed these films. I give this movie a 10/10. Those three hours were better worth watching than the three hours of Batman vs Superman. Any thoughts? And don’t worry, I’ll review the two Captain America films as well soon. Stay tuned for my next review of Suicide Squad.

Peace.

Hulk was bigger and stronger than Stark, so that’s why he did better. And I’m not sure if there is a reason when Thanos is more ruthless and had no reaction (probably no reaction of his victory because he also learned that many were ungrateful of what he did. And more ruthless because, again, they wanted to stop him, and the fact they refused probably annoyed him a bit).

Again, as I said before, I can’t choose between Infinity War and Endgame. Putting them both in one DVD, anyone?

(BTW I just posted a review. :applejackconfused:)

Those are good explanations but Thanos should still display his emphatic straits he displayed in Infinity War. If the writers kept that main aspect of his personality consistent, I would’ve liked him a lot more in this movie.

Choose Infinity War. It’s better.

Another masterpiece from Marvel (also wacthed it on the cinema :raritywink:) . I´m curious, what´s your favourite so far?

If you read my Infinity War review, that movie is my favorite of the whole series.

5305384
Oh! Well in that case... I actually liked it too with only a few issues which you will see. :raritywink:

I like to call this one the grand finale of the MCU.

I guess why Iron Man died from the Snap is how his body couldn't handle the "power" from that(especially with he's not using the Infinity Gauntlet but actually attaching the stones to the glove of his armor I think?).
As for Hulk, his body must have been strong enough to survive. But the question is did he use the actual Infinity Gauntlet in that case? If he burned from that case than that means Thanos must have been strong enough to survive it.(Then again he literally died shortly afterwards due to Thor literally stabbing his weapon through his chest iirc. only surviving long enough to do the Snap)

In my opinion, this movie was ten times better than Infinity War.

“My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic-The Last Problem”: I am, and always will be, the best conclusion of a series and the deliverer of a most satisfying ending.

“Avengers: Endgame”: Hold my beer.

Eh, not a fan of The Last Problem. I actually hate it.

But I agree about Endgame.

Maybe it’s just me, but I never saw much of a difference in how Thanos was portrayed in both IW and EG. In my opinion, he seemed to be exactly the kind of guy I remembered him being, because even when he showed how much what he lost affected him he carried a sense of sadism that did not make him come across as sympathetic in IW, and he certainly wasn’t as merciful as people claimed.

I think the only reason he didn’t show much excitement at finding out he won in the future was because, by stumbling across future-Nebula, he realized what was going on and that the heroes were time traveling in order to undue what his future-self did. What helped him to still be a three-dimensional character was that he ultimately decided to make a change of plans on what to use the stones for, and he was still a compelling villain in my book.

Make sense?

My own perspective on Thanos still stands regardless of what anyone says. Nothing, not in the very least, should EVER change his characterization from Infinity War. I don’t look upon him as the same guy from the best MCU film that exists because his personality and lines of dialogue from Endgame do not entirely match up. “I don’t even know who you are.” is a primary example of that.

5569312
🤷🏻‍♂️That’s perfectly okay.

I personally consider “Infinity War” inferior to “Endgame”, but still a great film nonetheless. That, and I care more for the Avengers than Thanos, although I definitely think he’s a great villain in every way. “Endgame” pretty much quelled my anger towards him for winning in “Infinity War” by giving him his just deserts. As a matter of fact, I actually wished to see his head get chopped off during my wait for “Endgame” and was surprised to see that wish come true.

What really bothers me nowadays is the fact that people think Thanos was right to do what he did and deserved a happily ever after when really…he didn’t deserve a happy ending and was completely in the wrong. That, and it just seems confusing that people would consider a movie where a villain wins better than a movie where justice prevails and hope arises.

You know what I mean?

5569324
That’s because people nowadays are completely sick and tired of seeing heroes win all the damn time. And frankly, I don’t blame them in the slightest.

Honestly, I too always wanted to see villains just win for once and not let cocky heroes always save the day. Just to let the audience know that heroes don’t always win whenever they face a battle. But hey, there are also other people that always root for villains to get their karmic justice because it’s what they wish would happen in reality. Because in reality, as you know, bad guys often get what they want whereas their victims are left in defeat and shame. So I can see your viewpoint clearly.

Because in reality, as you know, bad guys often get what they want whereas their victims are left in defeat and shame.

I can see that. However, people watch movies because they’re trying to get away from reality, not be sucked back into it. Of course, justice can prevail in reality too. It just doesn’t seem like it because we’re always given bad news more than good news.

5569341
And that explains why you tend to stay away from shows that have “political correctness” and other things that shouldn’t be in cartoons and movies, right?

5569346
That is correct.

The depressing atmosphere in our world can take a toll on me in more ways than one, and I’m tired of always being subjugated to political agendas that I believe to be wrong.

5569347
I understand that, and I respect your viewpoints.

As always, I appreciate your comments and thoughts on my blogs.
