So I totally had a nightmare last night. · 2:45pm Jul 10th, 2020
I knew I'd be dropping the finished version of chapter 8, and I was pretty excited before I went to bed.
I'm also really enjoying the future stuff I'm writing, and I'd been really enjoying the bits I had just put into the rough draft for chapter 33, so I had that on my mind.
Anyways, I totally dreamed that instead of posting chapter 8 in the right spot, I accidentally deleted all of chapter 33 and replaced it with the edited chapter 8. Also, when I went to fix it, I couldn't. It put chapter 8 in the wrong spot, so that no matter what I did, chapter 8 would always come out of order in the rest of the story. Also somehow the unedited rough version of chapter 8 ended up in the correct order. It was all very strange. It was totally one of those nightmares that you need a good two or three minutes after waking up to remember it's not real. The whole thing was silly.
Lol, this is exactly like those dreams where you have to get up and do something, but everything is going wrong and it takes you AGES to get ready.
My face when I see you have at least 25 more chapters planned:

"At least", lol. Up to chapter 24 is done with self-edits and is just awaiting a more formal editing process. 25-28 are rough drafts. I'm currently working on writing 29 and 33. I expect somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 or so chapters total, maybe more. Each chapter takes about a week to go through, though some will be longer. Most chapters average about 8000 or 9000 words, though there are a few that are much longer.
One of the reasons so much extensive editing is required is because I write out of order, so it's all a hot mess (the first chapter I ever wrote for Rekindled Embers is actually Chapter 21 now). There's continuity errors, tone problems, not to mention general issues with my writing. My editor, Cyonix, is a person of tremendous patience and insight.
The reason I wrote so far ahead before I started getting Rekindled Embers edited is because I've had my heart broken too many times by incomplete or canceled or hiatus stories that I'll never read the ending of. I promised myself I wouldn't do that.
