Update about story and a smol question. · 7:36pm Jul 6th, 2020
Decided to inform that the next part of my current "big story" is in the works. At the moment the first chapter is technically finished, but it is rather short, with only little over 1K words at this time... Which brings me to the smol question in the blog title; How long chapters would you like? Or should I just put them out as they come, with no special-stress on the word-count?
And of course I try to hunt the potential typos in the new story( and really should do some hunting in the original one too)
This meme-pic from discord also feels rather fitting...
I have also put a small warm-up effort with the other story I mentioned in the author-notes. It will most likely be written on the side, due to my focus being with the snek-story at the moment. Got name and story (similar displaced-esque setting) in the clear, but no chapter fully done yet. All my writing is mostly inspiration based, and for fun.
And here's the pic which was the main inspiration for the other story. Should give a good hint...
That is all for now. Stay healthy and have a nice day/evening/night/morning.
How long do you think your stories should be? I think it should be whatever number you're comfortable with.
While there are upsides and downsides to both options, I would honestly go for uploading the chapters as you finish them.
In my experience, the length should fit the chapter and the story. IF that part of the story needs/works with a longer chapter, then go with that. However, sometimes it's better to divide up parts or have shorter chapters if necessary. Again, it depends on the story. As for uploading, I'd say upload each chapter as you finish them as long as you're comfortable with it. That way you can get feedback to help with future chapters if your readers are unclear about something.
Just make the chapters as long as it feels right. That it what i would say.
