    The Little Strand That Crosses

The last four years seem like such a blur now, don't they? There was a brief glimpse of clarity in 2020 and then our consciousness was jerked clear into the in-between—disconnected from the gift of life but clearly still present on this side of the page. Will that change? Yes, but maybe not. The rain doesn't stop but sometimes we don't mind being wet. Let's talk about it.

    Yearly Birthday Update?

Well, it's somewhat of a tradition to pop up once a year to proclaim I'm not dead and give an update now, right? Well let's do it then.

Well hello fellow Sunset lovers, it's that time again. Another month down and six more to go before we finally see the end of the absolute insanity that is 2020. We also have some really great news! Seven's initial goal for his move was reached so you guys get two new stories to be put into the works. More info down below.

RESULT: 41,300

I did slip up towards the end of this month, but my goal has still be reached. I'm not going to beat myself up too much over the zeroes since I did still accomplish what I set out to do, and honestly writing every day did kind of leave me burned out until I ended up taking a bit of a break. However, next month I'm going to bump myself up to 45k words to try to do even better, so let's see how that goes.

In other news, if you'd been paying attention to my previous blog posts you'd know that I offered a few free stories if we could reach his goal of 600 dollars by the end of the week, and guess what?

We did it!

Seven's situations is thankfully much more stable now that he doesn't have as much financial stress weighing on him, so a massive thank you to all the people that helped him get through these hard times. Now to reveal the winners of the contest. We have one winner by popular vote, and then another by Seven's choice. Here are the two winners:

and

(yes I voted in my own competition. They were both good ideas give me a break)

So these will be the upcoming stories I'm going to work on, as promised. Can't say exactly when they'll be out, but they will be written and published on my account most likely within the next two months.

On another note, my next blog post will be an actual commission sheet and I'll be opening those up to the public in a few days. Just as a warning, I'm not going to immediately take on everyone. I already have a decent workload so I'll be limiting my commissioners to just patrons. If you're interested in a commission, you'll have to work with me through there for now.

And finally, I suppose I should talk about how the month has gone. This month has been more stressful than the last month due to a variety of factors including a few nasty people and some topics I really should be avoiding, but it hasn't tanked my mood thankfully. Things are still going great and I've felt better than I have in a long time. Obviously I'm still being pretty productive as well, so nothing to worry about there yet. Hopefully I'll be writing a lot of great projects for you guys for the foreseeable future.

I used to ask questions with each blog post to see who was paying attention, so I think I'll get back on that. What Sunset story would you guys like to see the most in the future?

Great to see you’re doing well Holy! Also, that big is so raaaaad:derpytongue2:!

Any story about Sunset puts a smile on my face. I really like the ones of her trying to right her past wrongs

Congrats on all the goals met!

I await the publishing of those ideas!

Also, that pic is still excellent.

Just remember Holy.

Stand Unshaken.

And congrats.

I hope I don't fall into the "nasty people" category, somehow. Though I've been known to be insulting without even trying and remain completely oblivious to the fact.

I'm actually quite okay with any Sunset story if it isn't tagged "death" and "tragedy" ... There's probably a lot more tags to stuff in there but I just don't want anything "bad" to happen to Sunset, really; ever since Rainbow Rocks came out.

Don't worry, it's not you. Really just one person making things difficult for my friends and I that's unrelated to most of my space.

Don't feel bad about any zeros. You are beating my monthly word count for sure! So glad to hear that you stayed safe this month, despite all that is going on out in the world right now.

Write on and best of luck
Oh and of course stay safe and healthy

Hey Holy, that's awesome you're doing better (even with the crazy month... year).
Just doing that much writing is pretty damn great, and it's really cool of you to help out Seven. Money may not be everything, but it sure can make life suck or not suck pretty quickly at times.

As for Sunset fics... I honestly haven't been reading much FIMfic lately, but that can change on a whim. Self-forgiveness is something I've loved reading and writing, those can be so powerful, and Sunset is perfect for it. She's got her own (literal) demons and having her move past them is golden.
