I just want my memories of The Last Airbender, Skyrim, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Jojo, Attack on Titan, and a bunch of other stuff to be erased so I can discover it all over again. Oh, and racism too, I suppose.

Racism will end when something as superficial as skin color will stop being viewed as something that makes one superior/inferior.
Given that people find even dumber reasons to assign value to themselves over others, I think we're stuck with people 'needing' the concept of racial
superiority to manage their own personal setbacks.

Especially since there are people who equate tolerating (insert something superficial) equates to tolerating (insert unrelated/shocking implication).

The best you can do is be better and hope that setting the example will continue the trend of each younger generation being better.
Granted this means competing against people who view their 'beliefs' as hard facts and make an effort to make sure their kids grow up with the same prejudices, which slows down society's gradual maturing; but as far as I know: it's the only thing we can do.

Meanwhile, about five blog posts above yours, a user with 360 followers is defending the literal ponification of Nazism, because apparently, Derpibooru trying to inhibit people from glorifying Nazis is just as bad as Nazi Germany's own "degenerate art" movement.

...I'm generally predisposed to assume I'm the least qualified person in the room to talk about anything even vaguely political, so maybe there's something in that argument that's flying right over my head, but even with that in mind... What the f*ck!?

It won't happen. Not so long as a certain political party can still milk it for political gain, to divide and conquer. Which party? The party that was against freeing the slaves. The party that was against them voting, the party that was against desegregation, civil rights, the party that has promised for the last 50 years to fix all their problems but only keeps them poor, illeducated, and dependent on government. So long as they are around, they will keep racism alive as a tool. They are the true racists.
