The June 2018 original fiction Writeoff:
Was called Hiding in Plain Sight, and I won 1st place there with a big, long poem about Medusa in the modern world called "Ode to the Artistic Temperament."
A couple months and couple drafts later, the kind folks at Silver Blade magazine paid me ten bucks to post it on their website where it currently resides in case anybody wants to read it.
And today, I learned that it tied for 3rd place in the "long poem" category of this year's Rhysling Awards given out by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Poetry Association. So thanks to all the Writeoff folks for being such a great workshop group! I hope to get back to the contests after I finish this ding-dang non-Pony book I've been working on all year.

Eyyyy! :D
Congrats!
Gonna have to take a look at the other winners if they put yours in 3rd.
I fell in love with 'Ode' back when you linked it in a blog.
Congratulations!

Thanks, folks:
In case any wants to see more, I've finally made a Table of Contents page for my Plague Year Poems. I've been writing one a day since March 22 and should post my 100th tomorrow. Hardly any of them are Pony related, alas...
