    Finally made it to Babscon

What a long strange trip it's been. This is much harder to do on the fly with a disabled girlfriend than flying solo. Honestly it's a good lesson but yeah I'm here I'm queer and I'm ready to party with my peers and also apparently work at the conop's desk for the next few hours once I get GS electric wheelchair out and charging. As always look for the short fat white guy currently with a beard

    On Death

I call myself a hopeful agnostic. I vigorously want there to be an afterlife, where there's joy, justice, and fellowship for all God's creatures, great and small. I am unbelievably terrified of the prospect that one day I will cease to exist. And I want so desperately for all entities across space and time who have felt hurt and pain and suffering and helplessness and confusion and fear to feel

I’m angry · 9:59pm Jun 22nd, 2020

God I fucking hate entitled white Trump supporters. I started yelling at my dad‘s fiancé because she was saying Trump wasn’t a rapist and she just shut down the conversation saying I was getting too emotional. Like fuck you cunt. you seduce my dad and ruined my moms life and you’ve lived off my dad without having a real job for eight years. Fuck you

doesn't sound like yr very emotional to me

excuse my language, for both the readers, post maker and website moderators, but that dumb bytch don't know what's gonna hit her until she wakes up from this weird Matrix-bug that makes its users support idiotic old farts (he's a Trump, isn't he?) and become self-aware once again to the world around them!

5290942
Also, I think you should really find some dirt on her past romances and if she's been cheating on him - I've noticed lots of Trump supporters on Twitter got divorced by their other half. Guess who dumped and what side they were on? Yup. People who didn't support Trump dumped 'em! (Well, that was when I last checked anyway)

Let the hate flow through you, and channel it into a post-anarchist ship fic. Starlight Glimmer imbues the corpse of Derrida with dark magics, bringing him back as a demi-lich bent on enacting post-modernist ideas in a retro-futuristic insurrection seeking to overthrow the tyranny of Twilight Sparkle and the forces of conservatism.

I don’t like that the only way to reach conservatives is to actually be nice to them while telling them they’re wrong. Like whether or not someone is nice to you shouldn’t determine whether you think they’re right or not. But again, for all that they call us snowflakes, conservatives are the real easily triggered ones, and they operate off of emotions instead of logic.

Imagine thinking a politician isn't corrupt lmao. I've grown up with pro-conservative culture who vote to keep "the evil guy/girl" out of office; I've seen tweets saying "Biden could rape me and all my children in the Times Square, and I'd still vote for him to keep Trump out of office." I hate blind loyalty. I hate political tribalism--to box oneself into a single, narrow way of thinking. And I hate the politicians who encourage either of them.

5290956

I don’t like that the only way to reach conservatives is to actually be nice to them while telling them they’re wrong.

Well... I guess I can't say you're not being honest. That's the depressing part of politics: Nobody cares about you until they're convinced you care about them. This is the cycle of hate. From their perspective, why should they care about you? What reason(s) have you given them? All they see is hate, whether real or perceived. And I'm not foolish enough to think it's all just in their heads. It doesn't matter whether you're justified or not. If you hate them, they won't care about you. And this line of thinking goes the opposite direction too. That's the other half of the whole, the second phase of the cycle. Sure, some people live only to perpetuate this cycle, but they're evil hatemongering tribalists, no matter where on the spectrum they fall, and unfortunately a lot of people just don't know any better than to hate, because it's how they were raised. That's why it's your job and my job to wake them up.

Unfortunately, we face an uphill battle. The current culture does not understand the consequences of their actions. Example: This white male middle-class business owner doesn't support BLM (if they even did that much research, which I think is generous), so I'm going to bash his windows in. Next time, he's going to do what we want. Well, that's not how humans work. He's not going to do what I want out of a sudden realization that I'm right, he's going to do what I want because he's afraid. And the moment he stops being afraid is the moment he goes back to the way he was before, albeit with more hate for me--the guy who bashed his windows in--and the cause I support. I don't understand how anyone can't see that hate is self-destructive, and that the answer is to educate the other person. What if Trump does bring in the military and as a result, the man's store is protected? Who do you think (in his eyes) has earned his vote? Who do you think has cost the other candidate that man's vote?

Trump--and all politicians--are professionals at playing politics. The ones who aren't, don't get elected. Never forget that. Never trust them completely. Though this concept is cynicism tempered with realism, I'm afraid it's the truth.

Wonder how she's gonna react when the Oriange Idiot is voted out of office?

Granted, Biden isn't exactly perfect, either, but given that he's BEEN in office, at least HE knows what the hell he's doing.

5290956

I don’t like that the only way to reach conservatives is to actually be nice to them while telling them they’re wrong.

Maybe, but it's often amazing how effective it can be when you're trying to reach them or anyone else. That's how Daryl Davis convinces KKK members to leave the Klan. It may not be cathartic, but it gets results.

I agree with what others have said: Turn that anger into art. You'll be glad you did, I'm sure.

5290978

This white male middle-class business owner doesn't support BLM

Why should he? They're already a terrorist organization. Your theoretical window breaking scenario is all too real these days. This BLM bullshit is already causing the silent majority to hate them, and BLM supporters have only themselves to blame. And the funny thing is, it's plain to see that people of all races are in on these riots, so it's not even white supremacy, it's just a seething hatred for any of these liberals. And really, the cis white male that's so awful because of his fucking skin color, is probably now not only going to vote for republicans, but he's probably also a lot less likely to hire anybody he thinks was with BLM (read: black people). This is not a theoretical scenario at all, this is playing out in real life.

Can you blame him? Can you really? All these people that hated that man for nothing more than his race, have only themselves to blame.

5291235 But... orange man bad.

5290956
It shouldn't, but that's sort of how brains work...like, having someone seem reasonable makes them seem smarter and stuff.

I don't know how anyone can support Trump. He's an idiot, first of all. I can see it all the way from Russia. How could anyone with any kind of brain elect a racist homophobic rapist who was bailed out of Vietnam service by his rich dad? He's the perfect image of a billionaire - a self-centered asshole who hates everyone who isn't explicitly on his side. He likely doesn't even care about anything he's doing because, well, he's rich. Rich people rarely face consequences of their actions.

The fact that there are people in MLP fandom who support him is mind-boggling. There's plenty of evidence of Trump being a shitty person all-around, one just needs to look at his wikipedia page (and its sources, of course, in case any of you want to say "But wikipedia isn't a credible source!")

5291413

Welcome to American politics. I assure you, the other side is just as bad. The #MeToo movement split from top to bottom when Biden was accused of rape, with some of its founding members saying Believe All Women like they have from the beginning, and other founding members saying "Woah woah woah, wait a minute, that's my candidate. My candidate can do no wrong." The only reason any sane person was able to support Trump is because last time he was up against Hillary, and this time he's up against Biden. Very few actually like Trump so much as they dislike the other guy/girl. You've got Hillary calling half the country "flyover country" and "deplorables," and Biden having literal dementia and questioning the blackness of blacks who don't vote for him. This is why people vote against Democrats--and they'll word it exactly like that, against democrats. They aren't voting for anybody. They just want to say "Fuck you too" to the politicians yelling "Fuck you" to them.

When you treat someone like a deplorable, surprise sur-fucking-prize, they don't vote for you, and now you're wandering in the woods for a month being all sad and depressed, while the guy you cheated out of a primary election (Bernie) has already gotten back to work in DC. I don't have faith in the GOP, but I sure as hell don't have faith in the DNC.

When you think about it, it's a pretty good illustration of what happens when politicians embrace this quote:

I don’t like that the only way to reach conservatives is to actually be nice to them while telling them they’re wrong.

5291267

[BLM is] already a terrorist organization.

I've heard that the founding members and leaders of the movement are mad that people have come in and "hijacked" the movement into something it wasn't originally. No proof though, so I'll admit that's just hearsay and treat it as such. But the fact remains: some protests are peaceful, start to finish, while others cause destruction and personal harm. This lack of unity certainly seems to fit what I've heard, though it's not enough evidence to make the claim.

Welcome to American politics. I assure you, the other side is just as bad.

To be honest, Democrats are still slightly better. However, both Democrats and Republicans are still very shit and won't bring any meaningful lasting change for the better as far as the majority of population is concerned. They're both a shade of shit.

The only reason any sane person was able to support Trump is because last time he was up against Hillary, and this time he's up against Biden.

That makes sense, but is infuriating to hear. American voting system is fucked up when you get two shitty candidates to choose from, so you end up with another racist or war criminal or both no matter what.

GOP are horrible, but at least they're mostly honestly horrible. DNC just keep messing themselves up for some weird reason. And both, in the end, give no fucks about the wars the US is involved in or its own citizens. Bernie is the best the US has, and that's saying something, considering that he is more or less centrist on the larger scale.

5291297

I hear of [Lily] about once every year or two. Apparently she’s like a pseudo-leftist pony reviewer or something?

I was really trying to stay away from politics back then, so I unfortunately can't really comment. As a person and a creator, Lily is... an interesting character in the MLP review community on YouTube. If I could choose a single word to describe Lily, it'd be drama. If I could choose a second, it'd be Starlight-hating, mostly for writing reasons. I've been unsubscribed for a few years now, ever since Lily stopped making actual content and just devolved into petty name-calling every time Starlight came up, which happened with some regularity given that Lily bashed on her at every opportunity, including opportunities that seemed completely made-up. Then Lily, probably hatefucking a Starlight Glimmer plushie, had the nerve to say that the writers all had wet dreams with their Starlight Glimmer plushies. Classic irony.

tl;dr I stopped watching Lily bc toxicity, both towards characters and irl people in the brony community

5291524
Trust me, I hate Liberals just as much as conservatives, sometimes more. Conservatives are blatant in their evilness; liberals try to gussy it up.

5291554
Yeesh is all I have to say.

5291297
Pseudo? I think she's a lot more than pseudo left. And she's not exactly a pony reviewer. Like, she occasionally covers it, and did a lot more a few years back, but she mostly does a variety of stuff. Btw, judging from the dislike (which I'm not sure is from you), have you heard only negative things about her? Cause I didn't mean a comparison in a bad way. Lily's a really smart analyst.
5291554
Um...Well that only works under the assumption that she does hatefuck a Starlight plushie, which I somehow doubt, and I'm pretty sure that was a joke saying writers have wet dreams about Starlight. Also she really doesn't spend that much time talking about Starlight in the grand scheme of things on her channel. Also what is an example of this made up stuff? Also she does bash people irl, and when she does it's for good reason. Speaking out against what people do is important. The best example of this I can think of is Blame and Groom, when she talked about Toonkritic's pedophilic actions. Her talking about how forgiveness isn't always the best thing made the victims of him feel a lot better and also other people who have been sexually abused in the past.

5291983

The way it used to be, Lily was right just enough of the time that it was worth wading through a distasteful personality to get to the content. Somewhere along the line, I decided that it was no longer worth it and unsubscribed. Yes, my joke about Lily's plushie was just that--a joke, in fact a joke based on one of Lily's jokes, bc Lily has a habit of shamelessly copying jokes from others, and I love irony. As for real people, Toonkritic absolutely deserves to be behind bars, but I don't watch one of Lily's videos to hear about Josh Scorcher. I watch Josh's videos to hear about Josh, and Lily's videos to hear about... eh... the points Lily makes. But yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if she kept a Fiery Joker plushie right next to the Starlight Glimmer one.

Ultimately, Lily's just a content creator, and I'm willing to agree to disagree and remain unsubbed.

5292151
Ha...ha? Also I don't know if it's really that bad to "copy" some of the time. People make reference humour all the time, and don't necessarily source where they got it from or whatever. Also exactly. You watched her videos to hear her points. And she makes points about other people, and why how they act is not good. I know you don't mean it like that, but the only difference is people irl vs people in stories or the stories themselves.

tse2.mm.bing.net/th?id=OIP.ht7Ns1spGYgMX_1uXgHsIwHaHa&pid=Api

5291544 I mean, I could believe that about it being 'hijacked.' I'm sure there is proof of their misdeeds. It will come out eventually. Honestly, I'll tell you what, their lack of empathy for all the people hurt by riots is enough for me. Seems to me they're nice and comfortable watching the world burn.

5292274
You seem to care more about stuff burning than black lives being snuffed out my dude.

5292851 Of course, you refuse to acknowledge all the people who have died as a direct result of these riots that also happened to burn shit. What about their lives? Do their lives matter?

You seem to not care about them, not to mention all the people's homes, businesses, and livelihoods that are being destroyed by these animals, my dude.

5293319
None of these riots would’ve happened if police didn’t continuously murder people every single day.

5293718 That's a sorry ass excuse, and you know it.

5291552
The DNC mess themselves up because it's easier to grift donations for being the opposition when you lose elections. If you win, there's a risk they may be held responsible for their policies.

5291544
Occupy was the movment that made me realize that leaderless protest movements are useful only as a steam valve for real frustration: they cannot create lasting change. Without some leadership with a clear slate of policy demands, they either descend into an incoherent mishmash of demands from all the various local activists or they are given token gestures that placate everyone until a year or two later after you went home and realized nothing changed.

If you are against deaths during riots, then you are against any riot and any revolution no matter what they fight for. If you live in the US and celebrate the Independence Day or adore the Founding Fathers in any way, that would make you a hypocrite.

If you're so against violence and death, then you're against bringing change to a system that has exhausted itself long ago. Even MLK recognized that riots is the language of the unheard, and he was for peaceful protests. Did they work? Not really. Peaceful protests that barely disturb anyone, especially the system, do not work, history shows that.

Systemic racism in the US is a huge issue that remains to this day despite the Civil War and the Civil Rights Movement.

At the end of the day, no riots would've happened if the police didn't routinely kill or abuse black people. Riots wouldn't happen if the police actually protected and served instead of getting a slap on the wrist each time they do wrong. I'd rather accept death because of riots - and riots will eventually end - than support the status quo that will see more black people and, to be honest, many other unlucky people to be routinely killed without punishment by the police.

Death by riot = ok. Death by cop /= ok. But I'm the hypocrite. Right, right. I think you're confused.

If you're against killings during riots, be they intentional or not, you're against any riots and revolutions. Did you not read what I wrote? On top of that, the police fatally shot 429 people so far in 2020, 88 of which were black. Considering the police must be held to a higher standard, why are you not talking about them?

You mean all whopping 4 of them in 2019? In the whole country? Four/year = routinely? I think you're confused.

Sure, let's trust you on the matter. You cite no sources, you just say "Meh, just 4" while it's obviously not the case if you bother to search for the actual data. In case you or someone else isn't satisfied with one thing, here's another source.

It's funny that you say you're a "good" conservative while you obviously have a racist bias along with inability to search for data to support your own arguments. This, once again, proves that the "old wise conservative" stereotype is simply false.

5294335 You're a commie. You're in no place to be calling anyone else out on their political views. I'm not about to waste my time spoon-feeding you information that you'll choose to ignore. But here you go. Now if you'd actually look beyond the face value of the number on top, you'd notice that of the police shootings, of unarmed black people there are only 14 (I could swear it was 10 or 11 like a month ago). Of those (and my recollection may be off, but 14 is still a small number) only 4 incidents did not see the officer involved facing criminal charges. So your claim that police 'routinely' kill people and get away with it is LUDICROUS. I suppose you'll tell me that all the armed people shouldn't have died. That the police should've just laid down and died to those criminals. That's stupid.

You're a commie. You're in no place to be calling anyone else out on their political views.

And you're a capitalist, a supporter of system that each year kills millions of people. I'm not supporting USSR or China or other "communist" regimes - even though we discussed that they were not, in fact, communist - so you can kindly fuck right off with your baseless anti-communist bullshit. Learn about ideologies first before even thinking of criticizing them. It really seems that everything I told you just went right over your head because "muh USSR bad" or "China bad" or some other dogwhistle you right-wingers use to oppress workers.

I'm not about to waste my time spoon-feeding you information that you'll choose to ignore. But here you go.

How convenient for you to use an outdated source that says it right there in the article. What's that about "choose to ignore" things? I did link to a newer article, the same one your article links to. In there, 123 black people were unarmed but were still killed. And that's not even counting people with toy weapons or weapons that lack range. And that's also not counting people who had weapons on their body but nothing in their hands.

Your police is not trained in deescalation, so it is entirely their fault for the amount of killings the police do. Call those killings "justified" or whatever, but shouting at any suspect with "GET DOWN ON THE GROUND" repeatedly will do nothing but anger them.

So, you entirely failed to view my sources - of which one was linked from the article you cherry-picked despite the fact that it was outdated and it was explicitly said so - and you tried to cherry-pick data supporting your view, failing to realize that someone with a brain will see that and call you out on it.

So, basically, it was part of a side conversation based off of a self-admittedly random comment, which turned into an overattached fan slinging veiled accusations, which prompted a response/clarification.

5294366

we discussed that they were not, in fact, communist

No, you discussed how you choose to label them with a different word. Regardless of what type of communist you are, you are still a communist. Even if I agreed that no previously existing nation was ever your 'type' of communism - which I don't - that does not somehow magically absolve you of supporting a political ideology that chooses to ignore human nature, condones lots of things that most Americans find repulsive, and that is fundamentally un-American. In short, I don't like communism - and I have every right not to. You really need to get down off of your high horse, and stop implying that I should like communism, but that you have no need to like conservatism. That's typical doublethink by close-minded leftist.

No, you discussed how you choose to label them with a different word.

I label them with a correct word. If you want to call a vase a dildo, feel free to do so, but then don't complain if it breaks inside your ass and makes you bleed out to death.

Even if I agreed that no previously existing nation was ever your 'type' of communism - which I don't - that does not somehow magically absolve you of supporting a political ideology that chooses to ignore human nature, condones lots of things that most Americans find repulsive, and that is fundamentally un-American.

I agree communism is utterly un-American. After all, it doesn't support oppressing people of other races, it abhors slavery, it's against genocide of any natives, and it's against homophobia and religious idiocy. And, if you deem any of those things human nature, than yeah, it goes against human nature as if there is such a thing as human nature that isn't shaped by a surrounding society.

Oh, and the American way of life is proven to increase greed. Wealth makes us selfish, it makes us less compassionate, greedier, much greedier, far less empathetic, generally meaner, and less ethical. Capitalism - which is the basis of American life - encourages all that behavior. Do you not find that abhorrent? Or is it only abhorrent when workers come together and rebel for a better life?

You really need to get down off of your high horse, and stop implying that I should like communism, but that you have no need to like conservatism. That's typical doublethink by close-minded leftist.

My mind is not so open that my brain falls out. Conservatism is an ideology of racists, homophobes, and bible-thumpers as practice shows. "Conservative" application of government power means giving no protection to people of color, non-cis people, non-heterosexual people, and non-Christian people. Oh, and of course, not giving any protection to the working class.

LOL Look who's talking! You hate conservativism simply because you perceive conservatives as a bunch of bible-bashing hillbillies!

Please, don't insult "hillbillies". Lacking education isn't a crime, especially if you can't get it while working on a farm to support your life. However, if you are educated and you are still a conservative, there's something wrong. As I said before, I don't like conservatism because I don't agree with it. But you conveniently missed that like many other things I've said.

Aww, should we hold their little hands, and tell them to feel better instead? Maybe they should stop breaking the law.

Your solution to crime is just "dOn'T dO cRiMe, lOl". Typical conservatist idiocy that never looks at the core issues of crime and how to deal with both that and the consequences of existing crime. Harsher punishment does not deter crime, that much is known already.

Yeah but you've chosen to ignore everything I've said

You picked an outdated source, I'm entirely free to ignore outdated material. If you use a newer, accurate source, I would give your words consideration.

Well then you can kindly fuck right off with your baseless anti-conservative bullshit.

You're a little poopy-head, aren't you? You completely ignore what kind of people get elected in the US by the conservatives, you ignore what kind of laws they pass only so that you can pat yourself on the back and call yourself a "good" conservative... as if there is such a thing.

And one last thing, I'm not authoritarian communist, I'm an anarcho-communist. Any of your criticism to the former does not apply to the latter.

5295428 You are unfathomably stupid.

Don't call me a conservative. You wouldn't see intelligence if it was staring right into your face.

5295461 Whatever, commie.

Let's list your failures. You failed to understand what communism is, instead buying into anti-labor propaganda that keeps the working class of the US oppressed. You failed to address the issue of conservatives voting in racists, misogynists, Bible-thumpers, homophobes, climate change deniers, and I'm reasonably sure some of them are also antivaxxers. Thus, you failed to convince me or, likely, anyone else that conservatives aren't all the things I listed. You tried to say that Trump supports LGBT and people of color but you failed miserably at it, considering how much evidence there is against those assertions. You also tried to talk something about Biden, thinking that a communist would support yet another senile racist rapist.

In the end, you stuck your fingers in your ears and went "Lalalal, you dumb, I smart, you bad commie, lol!" which is a typical response when you have nothing else to defend your abhorrent views with.

5296229 I upheld my argument just fine, thank you, and I could continue to do so. Not my fault you're too stupid to understand words. I'm just tired of talking to someone so ignorant and obstinate. See, I expected an intelligent conversation. I got a screeching communist who chose to stereotype me, insult me (and half the country's population), insult my country, and dismiss my point of view outright... then took offense when I returned all of those gestures. You made claims based on falsehoods and conjecture and you continued to piss and moan about semantics, of all things. What did you expect me to do but to dismiss you? Do you really expect me to continue to try to reason with someone who just keeps insulting me and telling me I have a wrong opinion? You're not worth my time, you deluded commie. Also, you're not a very nice person either, and that's putting it lightly.

If you're trying to claim that you 'won' this 'debate' by insulting me until I just decided that you were not worth my time, you go right ahead and tell yourself that. I don't particularly care.
