    Knives Out

So, Knives Out was a lot better than I expected. I’d recommend if you like a decent murder mystery. It’s a bit different than any other I’ve ever seen. Worth giving it a try I’d say.

    My Latest Story

Happy February everyone! I hope y’all had a good Valentine’s Day one way or another. I got sick and it ended up being one of the least romantic days ever, haha. But, I did give my wife a skull for her skull pile, and she was quite amused by this. I totally earned a point.

    Happy new year!

Happy new year everyone! I have fallen off of my monthly blog posts for personal reasons. I never left, but I just felt my time was best invested on the home front, and so I had even taken a short break from writing while I handled things.

TFI Changelings... · 4:12am Jun 20th, 2020

So, the deviations that I ended up with had made some of my storylines potentially really far removed from the canon of MLP:FIM. I am glad that people don’t seem to mind that, but I have tried to stay as close to the source as I can with what I’m doing.

But since the changelings hadn’t been reformed with a friendship love bomb, and one of the things I dealt with was how a changeling reformation might look... this is where I have ended up.

Even once they gave us the colorful big ponies, I never got much sense of what the Changeling culture was like... how do they build their houses? Do they have family units like ponies? Do they have little traditions like expressing thanks before meals or formal apologies? What are their courtship rituals like?

Since I had no idea, I found myself creating my own version of what the changeling society might be like. It’s not something I ever intended on tackling, but the way The Friendship Initiative deals with essentially a cultural exchange, it was kind of necessary.

I’m honestly rambling because I wanted to give an update but wasn’t sure what to talk about, so... this is what came to mind!

On a related note, just like happened to me while writing The Last Cutie Mark Crusader, I have again introduced a few minor characters that really stole the show for me since I found them so much fun to write. They end up helping add to the plot overall and not distracting, which is good. I wouldn’t have wanted to keep on this for another year or two before it was ready.

I’ve made a second pass of TFI, but I think a little more refinement will be needed to make sure it is up to standard. With any luck, you’ll start seeing story posts within a few months? Maybe less?
