Commissioned Art & Mini-Story: Sandcastle of (more than?) Friendship · 2:06am Jun 5th, 2020
Okay, so I can't keep writing different blogs about art I commission that don't go far beyond "I really like the art, thank the artist, please give them some love", so here's what I'm going to do: I'm going to write a very short mini-story here on this blog to go with this art. If feedback is positive, I'll do it for all my commissions 
After being stuck indoors in Ponyville for so long, Spike and the Cutie Mark Crusaders decide to go out and take a nice trip to the beach, together. Standing by a beautiful blue sea under a bright warm sun sounded like the perfect way to celebrate their newly restored freedom.
They pack their things and head out the first day they can, hoping to have a nice holiday. Thankfully, as the day passed on, they could say with the upmost certainty that they did: they went swimming, played volleyball, ate some ice cream, bathed under the sun, and buried Spike under the sand (that last one was a little less fun for Spike). Good times.
During the latter half of their holiday, Scootaloo asked her friends if they would like to go surfing with her. While they would have liked to, Spike, Apple Bloom, and Sweetie Belle stated that they were a little too exhausted from all of their activities and wanted to take it easy for a bit, promising to go surfing with her later. Scootaloo agrees and heads off.
Now just the three of them, Spike, Apple Bloom, and Sweetie Belle try to decide on what to do next. They wanted to take it easy, but they did not want sit there, do nothing, and be bored. Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle then come up with a great idea: they should build a sandcastle! Spike agreed and trio started to build their sandcastle, together. However, it was not going to be just any ordinary sandcastle; according to Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle, it was going to be the ultimate sandcastle.
Spike did not exactly understand what they meant by that, but he decided to play along and follow their instructions.
After some time, the trio completed their masterpiece and unveiled the "Sandcastle of Friendship" to the world. It was a very pretty castle with an intricate design and a starfish on top. It was a great representation of their friendship. Upon seeing its majesty, Spike then understood why Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle called it the ultimate sandcastle.
But that was not all; once it was complete, Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle declared Spike its king!
Well, how about that?
Spike could not help but smile at the gesture. Him? The king of his own castle? He was so lucky to have friends like them. They always knew how to have a good time and make him happy. He was sure to be a kind and noble king to them.
As the two girls "escorted" Spike a few inches toward his new castle, they only had one question: who would be his queen?
Spike's response was a pair of red cheeks and a short expression "Um..."
So, what do you think of drawing? I REALLY like this one. I think it's very cute (I'll release the other two color versions in the future). I only wish I could go out to the beach right now

Please, let me know what you think of the drawing and the mini-story. Should I do more? I'd appreciate the feedback. Heck, I had so much fun with the mini-story, I might consider making it a real one. I mean, summer is around the corner, so... you never know

Yes, I believe 5277114 is referencing the Archie comics. One of the ongoing themes is that Betty and Veronica have a friendly rivalry over Archie.

Okay, I think I know what he's talking about. I have very minimal knowledge with Archie. I only knew of it back they ran the Sonic Comic series, which has since moved to IDW.
