Going well on Lost Coastlines chapter 2. 3600 words in.
Have to say that my idea for throwing the pair into danger has slightly changed. And for some unknown reason, this story is written in shorter chunks. Well, I partially scrapped the idea for the ship to be destroyed by Thunderbird. Cool idea, but it went nowhere at the moment.
Blame a throw away line in my long story to help me out. And I figured out a way on how Storm King tech might be used after he died and left a power vacuum.
So piratical boarding and slavers. The pair gets out of this, sure, but my original plan, while very close to this, didn't expect a mention of that until later. Don't know why my fun, cute shipping stories always turn into this. But blame this on me seemingly finding more ways to add Chrysalis. I like writing her, and any Changeling focused story usually has to have her in some aspect. And it touches briefly on the hive mind aspect I'm going for for the bugs.
Why I did mature- tonal shift from happy Equestria to the wider world. Which kind of just is a sucky, horrible mess. Storm King, while a horrible bad guy, kept some kind of order. But with him gone, its a new, and slightly crazy, world.
